Shipping Confessions: Sparia (Pretty Little Liars)

Today we're going into the tv series Pretty Little Liars. The tv series is based on the books of the same name by Sara Shepard. The tv/book series follow four girls as they try to figure out who killed their friend Ali as a mysterious person known only as 'A' harasses them.

I'm looking at a non-canon femslash paring called Sparia that is between Aria Montgomery and Spencer Hastings.

Aria Montgomery has a thing for older men and is the literary one of the group. She isn't the brains, but she does like a good story. I believe she has been known to watch old, classic movies.

In the first season she was keeping a secret with her dad about him cheating on her mother. That was a secret 'A' used to break Aria's parents apart. Currently she is volunteering at Radley to find out information for the other liars.

Aria has some good fashion sense but her major plot lines in the series revolve around Ezra, the man she is canonically with in the show.

Spencer Hastings is the brains of the group. She is able to figure things out and yet doesn't fully get the recognition from her friends that she deserves. Spencer believes in a good education and is very academic to a fault. As the series progresses she seems to not be so obsessed with academics as before.

Spencer does have her faults as was shown by her being addicted to drugs. This was really one of the darker storylines that the show took. She was able to recover and that plot point hasn't popped up again.

She does care for her friends and is afraid of Aria falling back to Ezra even after everything they found out about him.

I first started thinking of shipping Aria and Spencer when Toby broke up with Spencer. I was thinking for a little while of making a music video for the pairing but could never think of a song that would fit the pairing. Currently I am not able to edit videos so any video of the pairing will be awhile in the making.

Aria and Spencer fulfill each other nicely. Both would be okay with watching old movies and reading classic literature together. While Aria isn't as smart as Spencer, their interests seem to be a common ground that could bring them together. Both could watch a show like Game of Thrones or a silent movie together and be happy. Each giving opinions and telling the other something they might not know.

Plus this relationship would mean they would never have to worry about hiding things about 'A' from the other. Both are in the group and so neither would have to worry that the other is 'A' when things get confusing. Of course the show might have 'A' be one of the Liars but I'm thinking that probably won't happen.

As I said before, Spencer cares about Aria's well being and doesn't want to see her friend harm herself without meaning to. It would be great to have these two females in a loving relationship on the show.

Sparia works for me because of the chemistry between the two and how well each of them compliments the other.

What will I talk about in the next Shipping Confessions? Next Shipping Confessions I will look at a very odd girl and the chosen one in the Harry Potter series.
