The Red-Tailed Project Attempt One Coming Up (Jademoon's Journal)

Since Herbie is resting after breeding with Kaliforna, I am the only one qualified to make sure that the next breeding pair is healthy enough to do so. Luckily Seitou was fully in agreement with testing what offspring would be produced between Kaliforna, his mate, and Herbie so I don't have to deal with any jealousy that might develop. It's not good for the leader and second in command to be at odds.

And what is the next breeding pair? Two dragons that are the first step in producing an offspring that looks like a red-tailed hawk: Nazilla and Erasmus.

Nazilla had seen a red-tailed hawk before and became obsessed with the bird. Awhile back she asked if a dragon that looked like a red-tailed hawk could be produced through a breeding program. After I agreed it was possible, I carefully checked what I had planned and saw a free slot.

Taking notes from the Imperial dragon, I came up with a few ways to tackle this problem. I adore complicated breeding projects like this as it lets me improve my knowledge of the universe.

To help better my view of the project, and of the universe in general, I delved into all I could find about red-tailed hawks. Their social structures, how long they would stay with mates, ect. Of the greatest importance to the breeding project set down by Nazilla was the look of the bird.

It was purely because of his genetics that I bought Erasmus. Nazilla happily agreed that a Wildclaw would be the perfect dragon for this project.

Now I must go to continue to check on Nazilla and Erasmus as in a few days they are supposed to breed.

As always, feel free to comment any questions to me below. I'll answer them in the future when I have time.
