Deadpool & Wolverine (Mini-Review)

Deadpool & Wolverine is the third movie in the Deadpool series and the first one set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Deadpool is at a low point of his life and feels as if he doesn't matter. These thoughts aren't helped by the fact Vanessa broke up with him and he works at a dead end job. So when Mr. Paradox comes with the promise of giving Deadpool everything he wants, the Merc with a Mouth can't resist. Deadpool & Wolverine was released in 2024. It was directed by Shawn Levy. It stars Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Emma Corrin, and Morena Baccarin.

There are both mid and post credits scenes. The mid-credits scene is a celebration of the X-Men and Deadpool. The post-credits scene is a joke referenced earlier in the movie.

I wanted to see this movie the week it premiered. Sadly, that was the same week my house decided it was a good time to flood. Yet I still tried to stay away from as many spoilers as possible. Not an easy feat as the movie is extremely popular and people like to talk. So a few cameos were ruined for me. Luckily, the good majority of the movie was a surprise to me.

The opening credits were truly a work of art. All the talent that was needed to make sure things worked properly was immense. On one level it was a fight scene that had to flow correctly so that it was both action packed and engaging. I've seen my fair share of fight scenes that tried to be exciting but...just weren't. On another level it was a dance scene and those parts couldn't take away from the overall fighting parts. On yet another level it had to make sure you focused on the credits. Suffice it to say it was a very fun way to start the movie.

I would highly recommend Deadpool & Wolverine to those looking for a movie that isn't afraid to make fun of itself. I would also highly recommend Deadpool & Wolverine to fans of both Deadpool and the Deadpool movies. I would also recommend Deadpool & Wolverine to fans of the MCU.
