Popular Myth:
One day a Whiptail dragon was itching to race another of his breed. But as he was one of the slowest of his breed, there was no one that seemed to want to join him. In frustration he landed on the ground and then heard the sounds of two Red dragons fighting.
He took a nap and then the sound of a forest fire woke him up. In fear he forgot to fly easily away and, instead, tried to outrun the flames. The fire caught up to him quickly and for a few seconds the Whiptail thought that all was lost.
He heard the cry of a phoenix and the fire could never seem to catch up with him after that. For an hour he continued to outrace the flames. When a river appeared, he jumped in and swam to the other side.
From that day on he was known as one of the fastest Whiptails around and dragons would come from all over to see him race.
