Language (Yeaflon)

Yeaflon language is extremely complex and hard to translate. There are three main dialects and learning even one of them is near impossible. Some think that due to their high intelligence, and how hard Vulch was to survive on in the beginning, helped to form the complex languages. As the Yeaflon usually have to translate to be understood, they usually appear very proper and unemotional. Because of translation issues it is easy for a Yeaflon to accidentally appear rude when that was never the intent.

If a Yeaflon wishes to learn another language they have to endlessly repeat phrases, words, and basic sounds. Once they do learn a language, none of their unique learning process can be detected.

Adult Yeaflon Language
This is the language that most people hear/see the Yeaflon speak. It is a large reason why they seem emotionless.

Adult Yeaflon Language combines both verbal and physical components. These movements can be slight but have immense differences between them, this is doubled when the verbal components are added. So adult Yeaflon have limited movements so as not to confuse their fellow Yeaflon.

Child Yeaflon Language
This language is not heard by most as Yeaflon children don't tend to interact with other species.

Child Yeaflon Language is purely verbal and is not that complicated compared to Adult Yeaflon Language. Yeaflon are aware that their language is complex and will take some time to learn, even for them. When Yeaflon are children, the elders wish for them to learn and enjoy learning. It isn't until a Yeaflon enters adolescence that they are expected to learn the Adult Yeaflon Language.

Disabled Yeaflon Language
More species have heard this dialect than have realized it. Depending on the sub-dialect it can appear very similar to Adult Yeaflon Language.

The two sub-dialects are:

Physically Disabled: This sub-dialect is also broken down into even more sub-dialects that depend on the physical disability. Yeaflon don't want their own to harm themselves just to speak the Adult Yeaflon Language.

Mentally Disabled: There are also sub-dialects to this sub-dialect. This is because mentally disabled can range from not remembering more than is normal to not being able to think like most Yeaflon. The Yeaflon want each of their own to be understood and to not press them further than their mental facilities allow them.

Behind the Scenes: The Yeaflon language was highly inspired by The Second Foundation series by Isaac Asimov. Especially the Adult Yeaflon language.
