Correction: They're only voting on whether to pass the bill to the house floor and then later the senate. The house committee is only a small number in comparison to the rest of those in the house and senate. I truly wish this time wasn't upon us. But SOPA will be voted on December 21, 2011. This, as I have stated before, will affect the enter internet community (yes, even you, non-American Citizen)! This is very sad when such a freedom of expression will be taken away (even though you hardcore porn fans are creepy).
Know what the saddest thing about this is? It's the fact that the people voting on this don't know what the fuck they're voting about. It's just that companies pay them money and they don't ask questions. This made the SOPA hearing very annoying to listen to. It could be a comedy if it wasn't real. The line 'The Internet is for Porn' was stated more than once.
Luckily there were voices of reason. Unfortunately they were very few and far between. So, those in the US of A, write (or call) your senator/representatives to tell them that you are against this bill!
Also, don't forget that Protect IP is a lesser form of SOPA, but could prove to be just as deadly.
