The Ultimate Animorphs Quiz (Part 5)

Animorphs wouldn't be the same without the diverse group of aliens that inhabited its universe. From the Pemalites to the Helmacrons, each species offered something unique to the series. This part of the quiz will focus on the Hork-Bajir and Taxxons, two prominent species the Yeerks infested.

Sansa Stark and Daenerys Targaryen: Two Misused Women

Since the first season of Game of Thrones, the women have started taking over. This provides the show ample opportunity to show women of different types of strength. There is Arya Stark and Brienne of Tarth for physical strength. There is Catelyn Stark for motherly love. There is Cersei Lannister and Margaery Tyrell for politically conniving women. There is Daenerys Targaryen and Sansa Stark for politically minded women.

Today I will focus on Daenerys Targaryen and Sansa Stark. The show tries desperately to tell us that they are wise and fierce women and yet gives them no plot lines to showcase their strengths. Sansa is stuck being thick headed. While Daenerys comes off like a female version of her father.

Year’s End is Neither an End Nor a Beginning Giveaway (Flight Rising)

Update: The giveaway is over. Thanks to everyone that participated. Maybe you were a member of Flight Rising and this giveaway made you a fan of my blog. Or maybe you're a fan of my blog who has suddenly learned about Flight Rising.

If you are a member of Flight Rising and can't wait until my next giveaway to get dragons from me: You can always check out the Auction House and my Dragon Shop for dragons I'm selling.

I also run a small WRITING SHOP

2018 has passed so quickly it seems. At the beginning of this year I was living with my father and now I'm living with my husband. There have been changes in my life and I've found them, mostly, for the better.

I thank everyone that has been a support in my personal and blogging life. Without you I wouldn't be able to keep my head held high and do what I do.

There is much to look forward to in 2019 including the final Season of Game of Thrones and the next Avengers movie. I might even find time to plan for an informal/non-official wedding for myself and my husband. It has been too busy to do so this year.

I'm making this the theme of this giveaway as this is the final giveaway of the year.

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (Book Review)

Matthew Stover does an admirable job in turning a bad script into something more enjoyable than it has any right to be. It is not perfect, but it is still better than what made it into theaters.

What Game of Thrones Character Should You Hook Up With?

There are many nice looking characters on Game of Thrones. And, if you're taking this quiz, you're probably thinking very deeply about at least one of them. So if you were transported to Westeros or Essos, which man or woman should you set your sights on?

I'm a Slow Learner But I Learn Giveaway (Flight Rising)

Update: The giveaway is over. Thanks to everyone that participated. Maybe you were a member of Flight Rising and this giveaway made you a fan of my blog. Or maybe you're a fan of my blog who has suddenly learned about Flight Rising.

Game of Thrones will be ending after next season and I'm okay with that. After the writing of Season 7, I am cheering on the White Walkers to kill everyone. There are many problems with the latest season and I've talked about them elsewhere on this blog. But right now I'd like to talk about Sansa Stark's plot last season.

Sansa has learned and grown over the course of the series. She has been shown the errors of her ways and had Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelsih as a teacher for a short period of time. She has shown that she won't repeat the same mistakes twice. However, the show seems hellbent on not giving her the opportunity to prove she's smart.

Game of Thrones Season 7 was the final showdown between Sansa and Littlefinger. This was the moment the show could prove that she had truly grown over the course of seven seasons. So how does the show decide to approach this epic battle of the wits? By making Sansa and Littlefinger dumb.

Littlefinger makes a plan that only works if Sansa is dumb. Sansa is so dumb she has to ask Bran to tell her Arya has no interest in ruling. And let's not even get into how poorly done Littlefinger's death was!

Allegiant (Book Review)

Allegiant concludes the story of Tris Prior. It isn't the best book in the series but it does a good job at finishing major storylines.

The Ultimate Animorphs Quiz (Part 4)

Tobias was just a bully magnet before he saw Prince Elfangor. Before he found out that the Yeerks were invading Earth. But he became the first of the original Animorphs to want to fight. Throughout the course of the series he was subjected to revelations, actual torture, and the loss of his love. He is my favorite character and I'd like to see how much you really know about him.

The Thief and the Ghost Chapter 3: The Call Deepens

"Don't you care about your own safety?" Gadwall asked. "Think about how much you're risking to become a rider. Think about how much you're risking once you go through training. Aren't you thinking at all?"

"I risk my life every day in the arena." I pointed out. "Every day I am unsure if I'll see another sunrise. You can't bring up my safety when danger is my life."

I could tell that he wanted to say more. Thankfully he was able to restrain himself on the matter. At least verbally. His facial expression was full of anger. His hands formed into fists as he calmed himself down. The moment he unclenched his hands was when I moved towards him.

"Even if you do become a rider, that doesn't mean you'll change anything." Gadwall said. "I've known many human wyvern riders that originally wanted to change things. Do you know how many managed to? None. Once they became riders their entire outlook on life changed. They begin to serve the Nieth like every other rider before them. Don't you think I want to be free? But you can't take such a risk for something that might not work."

"And if the voice is right?" I asked. "If I am a chosen rider then there is the possibility for change. There's the possibility I won't be chained to the Nieth."

"What did it mean by Jorn is on the cusp of change? Are you sure that's a good thing? What if your only purpose of becoming a rider is to spread the Nieth plague from Horngul to the furthest points of Jorn?"

I remember many years ago picking up Eragon by Christopher Paolini. Later I ended up reading Eldest, Brisingr, and Inheritance. I loved the world that was created and cared for the characters. Was it derivative of other works? Yes. Did I enjoy it? Yes.

For those interested in learning exactly what the Inheritance Cycle copied go HERE.

While going through my Facebook newsfeed I found the announcement of an upcoming Eragon book. My husband bought me both Eragon and Eldest so that my collection was complete. I am currently doing a re-read of the series to be prepared for the new book.

Update: This giveaway is over. I want to thank everyone who participated here. If you can't wait until next giveaway you can go to the Dragon Cave Forums where people will trade and give away eggs. I am also more than willing to breed upon request.

While the giveaway is over, feel free to discuss Balthazar from Supernatural. I would love to hear any theories and headcanons you have about the character. If you blog about Supernatural go HERE to find out how to advertise on my blog.

Balthazar is an awesome character on the show Supernatural. Well...he was an awesome character before he died. I wish he had come back and we got more of him. Though with how poorly later seasons are written I'm glad he didn't have the chance to be ruined by the show.

Crowley used to be an amazing villain. His help was sometimes needed but Dean and Sam never trusted him. Yet over the seasons he became less of a villain and more of an ally. He was such an ally that he actually sacrificed his life for the Winchesters.

Why do I bring Crowley up? It's to indicate the show doesn't like in the middle characters anymore. Or outright villains who sometimes help the Winchesters. If someone helps the Winchesters they are good. Or at least not unreliable as Crowley was in the beginning.

Balthazar wouldn't fit in this new dynamic. He was very chaotic in the beginning. He found out that he didn't need to follow a script and so had a lot of fun. He didn't cause harm to humans because he was cruel but because he didn't see them as much different than cockroaches. In other words: not deserving of any real respect. Which is what the majority of angels feel towards humans.

Yet Balthazar does have a sense of loyalty. He does end up getting involved with the Heavenly Civil War merely because he considers Castiel a dear friend. The only time he does ally himself with the Winchesters is when he realizes that Castiel has gone off the deep end.

And if Balthazar is brought back there is the little matter of Castiel killing him. Castiel was brought back to life twice so maybe God thinks that Balthazar's sacrifice has made up for his past errors. Anyways... the way Balthazar handles Castiel, Dean, and Sam couldn't be him simply forgiving his angel friend.

It could be he comes to help the Winchesters from time to time until he finally forgives Castiel for the whole killing him thing.

And now I'm mad I don't have time to write this fic!

Writing Session #5

I continue to write chapter two of Dracomorphs Part 1.

The Thief and the Ghost Chapter 2: Crushing the Dream

The night air made me sweat. Soon even those Nieth that were interested in me wouldn't want to be near me now. They would take my scent as proof I was unclean. It would be bad enough fucking a clean human, one that smelled bad wouldn't be considered. Gadwall had lent me a few perfumes an admirer of his had given him. But those strong chemicals couldn't help to deal with the new scent on my skin.

When all hope was lost I saw a target. His eyes were going over my body and pausing on my tits. I smiled and walked over to him. He seemed like he had wealth. A few wyvern riders sat behind him and seemed more focused on their meal. This must be a sign. My eyes looked up when wyverns flew overhead. It could only be a matter of minutes until my training started. My outward appearance was calm but, inside, I couldn't be more excited.

A human waiter stopped me before I got close to the Nieth. This outside restaurant was situated between two buildings. Both contained the kitchens. I calmed myself down by focusing on those facts. If I messed this up then everything could be lost.

"I'm here to see him." I said and pointed at the Nieth.

The waiter looked at the Nieth. There were not many customers since it was popular for its daytime cuisine. The human could clearly tell that the master wanted me. Hopefully he wouldn't recognize me from the coliseum and would think I was a whore. That would make things easier.

"You don't look like a *****." The human said. "Aren't you Tis Lothis' sister?"

"Human!" The Nieth yelled out. "Bring me that woman. She is appealing to my eyes. If there is any problem I will deal with it."

Eclipse (Book Review)

Eclipse, third book in the Twilight series, shows us utter glorification of abuse. Such as Edward restraining Bella from seeing a dear friend and how Sam started to date Emily.
