I Completed The Secrets of Ashes Book I Chapter 3

Though I tried to focus on my cup of coffee, my eyes kept turning to a pair of twins on the opposite side of the small restaurant. Something about them, Tobias would say their auras, asked to be observed. It told every onlooker that the twins were dangerous to any evil forces that dared prey on the innocent.

Both twins had dark black hair. Though one had dyed his hair white, a few black hairs stuck out. My eyes kept going further down their faces. It felt rude to do so but I couldn't restrain myself. The one without hair dye had a large scar that went all the way from his right ear to just below his right eye. The other twin had a fainter scar but on the left side. What had happened to them?

If not for their auras, it would be hard to imagine them being part of some great conflict. The one with dyed hair looked like a surfer though it was a few hours to any beach. The other twin looked like a lawyer or possibly a private investigator. Both had an intense look to their eyes that told me whatever they wanted in life they would achieve.

Their intense gazes never turned my way as they were too focused on their coffee. This was odd as they weren't lazily observing their cups, but looking intently at the coffee itself. Before sitting down one of the twins had mentioned coming here so often because of how great the coffee was. To me the Banana Bread's coffee was just like any other place's coffee. I took another sip of my coffee to see why the twins loved it so much. Nope. Still couldn't taste what they were talking about.

Finally my eyes looked only at my cup of coffee. My very average cup of coffee.

Special Offer: Christmas Themed Book Promotions

Or that might be because it's cold in a lot of places all over the world.

Another thing the holidays bring is the likelihood of people reading and watching holiday themed stories. From touching stories like A Christmas Carol all the way to brutal horrors such as Black Christmas. If you are an author you might be releasing a Christmas themed book during this time of year. Simple Changes that Could've Fixed Jonerys

To say I have a complicated relationship with the pairing of Jon Snow/Daenerys Targaryen (aka Jonerys) from Game of Thrones is an understatement. The pairing had a lot of potential that could've made me a proud Jonerys shipper.

Yes, my One True Pairing (OTP) of Game of Thrones will always be Jorah Mormont/Daenerys Targaryen (aka Jorleesi). But I'm also a multi-shipper that doesn't have many ships I just can't stand. In short I don't care how my many ships conflict with one another.

While I can admit that Jonerys had potential, I can also admit that potential was wasted on the show. There were so many problems that made it fail but there were still Jonerys shippers that liked what Game of Thrones gave them.

There are many things I loathe about how the show portrayed Jonerys and I've ranted about it many times on this blog. Today my rant will be contained to three things that could've been changed to make this popular pairing actually good.

The Perfect Animorphs Book for Halloween

This post was requested by members of HERE WE STAND

Animorphs is a book series about a group of six teens protecting the world from an alien invasion. The series does push what's acceptable in the Young Adult genre. Tobias is trapped in red-tailed hawk morph by the end of the first book and doesn't regain his ability to morph until later on in the series. And even then he still has to stay in hawk morph to be able to continue the fight.

There's also the Taxxons. The race is cursed with a hunger that can never be satisfied which causes them to eat anything that bleeds. That includes other Taxxons and themselves. I mean...how the heck did I survive my childhood?

Oh and let's not forget to mention the David Trilogy (#20-#22) where the Animorphs were tasked with something horrible. They had rescued David from the Yeerks and decided to enlist him in the war. But they ended up trapping him in morph because he had turned traitor.

But there is only one Animorphs book where one of the main cast is mentally and physically tortured: Animorphs #33 The Illusion.

Legends of Earth: Age of the Zodiac

Paid Promotion
Thousands of years had passed since man's patriarch, Adam, died. With his departure, humankind falls into a state of feuding tribes, competing for power and resources.

As their communities developed, it attracted the envious meddling of their arch-nemesis, Azazeel, a condemned demon vowing to dedicate his life's purpose to destroying man.

However, his goals are blocked by the Zodiac Guardians, an enhanced species, fashioned from the earth during the jinn's epic wars.

Striving to release his army, Azazeel patiently devised tactics to manipulate the Zodiacs into his evil slithering.

Concealed in the shadows, he stealthy convinced the Guardians to enslave humanity as their devoted worshippers.

As a result, four realms, powered by separate elements, were founded; earth, water, air and fire, but with the peace dwindling, a new threat began to rise.

With mankind subdued, Azazeel quickly shifted his attention to sowing the seeds of division between the united Guardians.

Fed by greed, deception, and power, the earth unveils the grand tale of twelve creatures, their race for global domination, and the permanent imprint they left on the human race...
