Exploring The Betrayal (Part 26)

I like to give my birds treats in the form of mangoes. But even though I go through a lot to prepare their special mango mix, they tend not to eat it.

So let's continue with The Betrayal by R.L.Stine!

Chapter 24

So why was Ezra Fier in shock at the end of the last chapter? What could be so amazing that there was a burst of emotion from him? It's because he spent all that effort to be greeted by a wall made of stone!

Ezra is both shocked and annoyed as the entire study has been walled in. Maybe Constance was afraid of what Matthew had become? Maybe Matthew walled himself in because of madness? Maybe a bunch of things.

As the stones don't have cement on them, Ezra decides it's possible to get into the study. If the study was supposed to be walled in why not secure it better? If it is possible for someone to just take out the right stone, did someone really want to hide something or just waste someone's time?

Ezra attempts to pull out stone after stone but stops when he hears a scratching sound. At first he thinks it's field mice but then decides against that assumption. As he's taking out brick after brick, he wonders if Matthew walled in the study. He wonders if there's something inside that's not meant for anyone to find. Though if that was the case the person should've used cement!

Suddenly a skull leans down towards Ezra! He tries to cry out but by that point the skull is sliding towards him. To add to the creepiness the skeleton's hand starts to chock the young man!

Now this is a party!
