Note: NAZILLA IS A WOMAN!
We had completed the act of lovemaking hours ago. Samara, my love, had gone to sleep quickly after. I liked to see that I could still make her happy even without being human. The thought that I couldn't keep her happy sexually had troubled me, no matter how far back in my mind it had been. However, pleasing her sexually was only half of the problem that I had now solved.
The other half was pleasing myself sexually. Even though Samara and I had gone at it with more passion than ever before, I couldn't get anything out of it. I couldn't even get off even a little. My M-4 body was able to tell what parts were being touched, how I should react, and what I should do with Samara to pleasure her even more. But not how I could be pleased.
I thought that knowing the emotions would make me feel them. But that had proven to be a false hope. It had also been a false hope that I would even get to see Samara again. Turning over I took in her form. With my sensors I could see her better than ever before.
There was no question in my mind, though, I loved her. Even more deeply than before. She had taken me back even after my change from human to enemy. But sexual compatibility was something that had to be taken into account. For now all that mattered was that Samara was pleasured and so my pleasure was secondary. Besides, seeing sex from a Machine's perspective was very interesting.

"I kept this for you." Samara said and handed me a box. The morning light was just beginning to come through the windows in the kitchen. I had been slightly dissappointed that Samara had chosen a more Spartan design for the curtains.
I scanned the box and couldn't believe what my sensors were telling me. I quickly opened it and my Mickey Mouse waffle maker looked up at me. The only reason that I didn't break down crying was the fact that it would've taken too much effort. I was too caught up by the moment to think about doing anything.
I handed it to her. "You use it now."
"Still as lazy as ever, Naz." Samara joked and took the waffle maker.
"No, I want to look in the paper. I need to know what's been going on in the world." I replied and a worried look started to grow on Samara's face.
"You know there is the internet."
"Yes, but this will give you a feeling of normalcy. As well as reminding me that I was human once."
Samara put a hand on my shoulder and looked me in the eyes. "You're still human to me." She finished her sentence with a kiss and I returned it.
I got the paper from the driveway and then went back into the kitchen. The news wasn't that exciting. Though that was a good thing. I didn't need something exciting to happen now. For a few minutes this continued, but an article caught my attention.
I decided to be kind and waited for Samara to be finished with our waffles. Once she put the plates down on the table, I handed the paper to her. She looked at it for a few seconds and finally asked, "What are you trying to make me see?"
"Playful Ballet." I replied. "The new security system seems to be run by something like an M-1."
"You know that The Net uses its supplies for more than taking over the world. They're also a business."
"I know, I've worked for them for three years, Sam." I replied. "However, The Net usually sells the M-1s as more normal sounding chips. The description in the article just seems to be different than normal."
A small smile appeared across Samara's face. "At least some things never change."
"Of course my courage will never change." I replied.
"I was referring to your insistance on be annoying."
I smiled back at her. "So will I go alone?"
"Never, Nazilla." She said and we started to eat our breakfast with plans of researching Playful Ballet afterwards.
---------------------
"I am not going. She will be there." Samara said.
"Don't worry, just because Glau is there doesn't mean you'll actually have to deal with her." I replied.
"She is my ex, Naz. She's my big ex."
"You're not being logical, Sam." I said and waited for the conversation to go exactly the same way again. It had been going the same way for hours. For an M-4 it wasn't a long time, but this mission had to start soon.
"You're a Machine now, Nazilla, you can't understand what this means to me." Samara said. Well, at least that was showing an improvement. Improvement meaning change.
"I do have a human side to me, Samara, and it's confusing that part too."
"You can't make me go on a mission that is probably not going to lead to The Net." As Samara said that I thought of a loophole. A loophole that would play on Samara's fears to make her move forward.
I crossed my arms and sighed. "How about you wait outside Playful Ballet in case I need a quick getaway?"
Samara looked at me and I could see that she was confused. She didn't want to meet Glau, an ex of hers, and yet she didn't want me to die again. Hell, i didn't want to die again. Though death didn't seem so scary for me now.
After a minute of waiting Samara said, "Seems like a fair comprimise to me."
***
"Are you sure you want to go in there alone?" Samara asked as she drove behind the building.
"I am." I said and got out when the car stopped. "Just be here when I come out."
Samara nodded and I turned to go into the building. I checked my clothing and then entered the building. I knew that if I accted correctly the people would think that I was a cleaning lady. Not just because of my acting but because I was dressed like one.
--------------
I felt guilty about leaving Samara out there alone to worry about me. And I wondered if The Net would capture her while she was waiting for me. But that was a worry a human would think about until the mission was over. I had thought about the likelihood and quickly decided that it wouldn't happen.
Besides, I had to focus most of my attention on finding anything related to The Net. After five minutes I was in an office that must have been for the technical crew. The crew that ran the things behind the scenes so that the members of Playful Ballet could put on a good show.
On one desk there was a computer that was full of a normal person's office things. However, it was lacking any personal effects. From what I knew of office people, they liked to mark their territory. They liked to have pictures of their families and little knicknacks that are important to them littering their desks. This desk, however, didn't have any of that.
On the walls of the room were generic motivational posters. More generic than any I had ever seen before. Suspicious, but the desk was more of a warning sign than the posters. Walking around the room I saw equipment that was powered by things like M-1s, but not the same thing. I walked back to the desk.
My scanners detected something giving off an odd signal from beneath the desk. I went down on my knees and crawled under. Where a part of the desk comes out, that the keyboard is situated on, I see a strange marking. I start to scan it since I realize it's where the unusual signal is coming from.
"Nazilla, is that you?" A voice says to me. If I were still human I would've banged my head on the desk before I was able to turn around and look at the person. But, as an M-4, I could tell that the voice was a female and then I turned to look at her.
I started to scan her with the normal scanners I have, but they didn't work. It was as though Glau's, who I easily identified, was hidden in a shroud of mystery. As though she was so mysterious that her mere presence could not be taken in by mere scanners. That nothing The Net could think up could ever identify her.
But I knew that wasn't logical. It was likely that she had injected Scam into her system. Scam was usually used to hide that someone was a Machine from scanners. But Glau's facial reactions seemed too human. Of course she could be an M-3 or M-4. But Glau's confusion and fear weren't anything an M-3, who would want me to be comforted, would allow to break through their face.
"I'm not Nazilla. I'm Sammantha. I'm the new cleaning lady." I told Glau. "Who are you?"
Glau laughs. "Why are you lying, Nazilla?" She asks. "You're Samara's new girlfriend. How is she?"
-----------------
I didn't know how to reply to Glau now. I wanted to rush out, knock her out, but damage had already been done. She looked at me and knew she held me in her hands. What was strange was that she doesn't have a cruel look on her face but one of surprise. A new emotion that wasn't there before.
"Just tell me what you want, Glau." I said without emotion in my voice. I didn't want to change her mind with anger, because I felt that would destroy her fragile mind.
Glau started to blush and I realized where this might be going. "You go out with me to lunch, Nazilla, and I won't tell anyone you were here today." She said and I felt relief. Just lunch. Nothing too big and I might be able to get information out of her.
"Yes." I replied simply. Just that one word. I tried to give that one word a tone of hopefulness to make sure Glau kept her word.
The next few minutes were full of making plans of where this lunch would be. The lunch that could lead Samara and I closer to defeating The Net. Minor, yes, but something to do. Something that I could do to feel like I was helping. A very human emotion, but one I didn't mind feeling.
When I walked out to Samara, I felt like I had accomplished something. Not much, less than nothing, but more than I had done in three years.
As soon as I got into the car, Samara asked me, "What did you find out?"
"There is a high likelihood that Playful Ballet is connected to The Net." I said and added, when we pulled out of the parking lot, "I have a contact that I will meet for lunch tomorrow."
"Who is this contact?" Her voice was now suspcious and any form of worry was gone from her body.
"Your old girlfriend: Glau."
"You're not going." Samara's voice gave more certainity than any Machine I had ever met.
"It's our best chance to not get caught and get a contact inside." I replied.
"She asked to go out lunch with you. To lunch!"
"Of course. It is low key."
"You're still human enough to know that she is trying to get you."
"The only way a relationship could form between us is if I let my emotions stray from you." I said and put a hand on Samara's shoulder and massaged it. I didn't stop until she relaxed.
--------------------
There is only one person in the world I trust now. Turning my head slightly I could see her in all her glory. Unlike Glau, the beauty in her was how much I knew about her. That person was Samara Crichton. She had put the jealousy behind her, at least for the moment, so that I could have a backup when I met with Glau today.
It had been a long and hard argument, but we had finally reached an agreement. The fact that the restuarant was a hole in the wall, so wasn't that noticable to most of the public, made Samara uneasy enough to be my backup.
She stopped before the alley. "I will come get you if I think there is even a hint of danger."
I looked at her and made my mouth form a smirk. "I am much stronger now. I will be fine." Leaning my face towards her, she comforted herself with my kiss to her.
As I walked to the restaurant I went over where my weapons were. The sound was nearly silent but I was more than alerted to an ambush. Raising my gun I shot at an M-2 and my shot was echoed by Samara's gun. I put all human emotions aside and went into attack mode.
I shot at an M-2's battery, that had become visible due to previous shots to it, and the resulting explosion affected all those near it.
"I'm still human!" Samara yelled and I spent a second to notice she was recovering from the blast. I then put her human weaknesses information as a higher priority. My Machine side just cared about the victory of a mission.
An M-3, having the skin of a black man, knocked the gun out of my hand and pushed me down. I heard gunshots from where Samara had been, but I couldn't help her now. Once I was down on my back I kicked the M-3 in the stomach and it went back a few feet into a wall.
As it recovered and came towards me, I picked up my gun and shot its head. The M-3 then fell back and shut down. It shut down forever. After that I didn't take too much notice of what I was shooting at, as long as it was a Machine I made it shut down forever.
I heard Samara yell out in pain and I rushed towards her. All but one Machine had been destroyed. Scanning it, I couldn't figure out what kind it was. It had human skin on it, but it didn't show up as an M-3 or an M-4. Once I shoot at it, though, my scanners identified it as an M-3. Must have had Scram in its system. Or some new technology.
None of my bullets hit it, but I got my chance to get to Samara and carry her away. Looking back I saw the M-3 just standing there. Its companions were dead so I shouldn't have been surprised that it didn't chase us.
Samara's fitful breathing distracted me from thinking anymore about it and I ran.
--------------
I couldn't describe my feelings about what had happened to Samara during the ambush. Mainly because some of the emotions were too new to me, even after three years of being an M-4, that I didn't know what I was experiencing. I hoped having to patch up Samara's wounds would take all of my concentration for now. But that couldn't happen since I could think about many things at once.
Every little twitch of pain she made reminded me that I didn't know how to fight with humans. Machines could handle a lot and didn't need to concern themselves with their comrades. With humans, though, you had to be much more concerned with their health since they weren't as durable. Though that wasn't really the full and correct explanation.
"Don't you remember how we used to fight? How you didn't harm me with your attacks?" Samara asked while she sat on the couch in her living room.
"In a part of my memory, yes." I told her. "But, when I took orders from The Net, I got used to fighting using a program. The program has preprogrammed settings, that I can adjust, but is there so I don't have to put too much effort into fighting."
"So you don't have to think. So you can harm without worry."
I wanted to reply against this, but I knew that she was right. I could argue against it, but everything returned to the same thing: The Net didn't worry about losing property since they could manafacture more Machines. So they made a Machine's fighting program reflect that fact. I was still controlled by The Net even after I had escaped.
"I updated the program." I said as I finished patching her up.
"But we have another problem." Samara said and I nodded. "We have to tell Karma HQ about Playful Ballet."
"It's a danger to humanity." I said. "But then you'll also have to tell Karma about me. And they won't take kindly to me. We won't be able to hide the fact that I'm an M-4 to the end of the war with The Net."
"I will protect you, Naz, don't worry." I wish I could take her comfort. But that wasn't logical.
"I don't think you can without being kicked out of Karma." I said. Samara knew what that meant. No one got out of Karma, as a traitor, alive.
"That won't happen. I'll have someone confirm that you are safe." Samara said and I realized I couldn't ask for more. Not even me running away would protect her.
We embraced each other and took comfort in each other. Me in her warm body and her in my cold skin. After a few minutes of the embrace Samara looked me in the eyes. She seemed worried.
"What is it, Sam?" I asked.
"Do you love Glau?" She replied.
I shook my head. "I only am attracted to her mystery. And, when that mystery is revealed, my interest in her will be gone. The only one I want to be with is you. And if I ever lose you again I won't be alive."
Samara smiled sadly. "But part of you does want to be with her. Even though we know that Glau set you up. She tried to kill you."
I shook my head. "She didn't try to kill me or you. Somehow, someone got Glau to tell them that information. I don't think she has it in her to be evil. Some people can't be evil, or bad, no matter how hard they try."
"She didn't join Karma."
"That doesn't mean she'd work for The Net. Just because you aren't in Karma doesn't mean you're less than human." I replied and there was silence.

Sushi, Sake, and Tanuki: A Lost Gem 1
"I have a new job for you." Hijunaki hissed. His snake form echoing the hate he had felt for me ever since my torture. Well, he'd say it had merely been him reprimanding me for gaining Akumie's hatred. My body had not yet healed from the torture. I could function and look like I had healed, but I hadn't. With only three months passing I could barely get over the psychological trauma. Though many didn't think I was emotional enough to experience any type of trauma.
"What is it?" I asked and bowed deeply. I didn't want to anger Hijunaki more than my presence already had.
"One of my my human slave girls, Yamaka, has escaped." Hijuanki paused a moment. "You know what I want you to do?"
"Kill her for disobeying you?" I replied. "That's what you would do."
He hissed back at me and I tried not to show any fear on my face. Which was the one to my main male human form. And hiding fear from a snake that was hundreds of feet high was not easy.
"Not always." Hijunaki finally answered. "You are proof of that."
I nodded. "Then you want me to bring her back."
He nodded and a smile formed on his face. "Yes, and do so quickly."
"May I take a partner on this trip?" I asked.
"Of course, I wouldn't think of letting you go out on your own so soon." He replied and I was glad my offer had been part of his original plan. Now he would think I was more scared of him than I already was. "Who are you thinking of?"
"Jirou." I replied.
Hijunaki nodded. "You may take him with you. He is loyal, unlike you. Now go."
I bowed to Hijunaki and left quickly. I didn't like being sent out on a mission and having a partner, but at least I'd get out. Maybe I could gain his trust again. Or at least have him be less outwardly violent to me.
Since Jirou and I had been friends, or something similar, I knew where to find him. Knocking on his bedroom door I could only wait. I hoped he'd agree to join me, since I didn't want to go with someone that I wasn't as familiar with.
"Rig?" Jirou said after he opened the door. "I don't want to fence today."
"No, it's not about that." I said. "Hijunaki said I had to take a partner on a mission."
"So you chose me?" He asked and I nodded. "Give me a minute and I'll be ready."
He shut the door and I started to wait for that minute to be over.
"What is it?" I asked and bowed deeply. I didn't want to anger Hijunaki more than my presence already had.

Eastern Promises (2007)
Title: Eastern Promises
Director: David Cronenberg
Starring: Naomi Watts, Viggo Mortensen, and Armin Mueller-Stahl
Rated: R
Released: 2007
Personal Rating: 3.5/5
Oscars: Nominated for 1
Basic Plot: A woman dies in childbirth and leads Anna into dealings with a Russian mob family.
Spa Scene
Now I don't think Viggo Mortensen is one of the hottest actors out there, but he's very good looking in this movie. The highlight of his sexiness is shown in the spa scene where he fights for his life against two men while he is nude. You'll truly enjoy this scene if you are sexually into guys and like action that is VERY violent. The director and Mortensen agreed that Mortensen's character had to fight in the nude. I am VERY glad for this decision.
Normal People
There is a discussion in this movie about how Anna shouldn't go further into her investigation about the woman because "normal people" don't. The film takes this theme about normal people getting involved in something, though this theme is cliche, to a very good end. This is helped by excellent performances by the cast and the story adding up (mostly).
Hints That Are Obvious
Some movies depend on characters making stupid decisions to move the plot forward. This movie is no different. Anna takes the diary to the mob boss to translate. At first nothing is that suspicious, so I can forgive her, but then he starts dropping hints at his true intentions. It's at that point that I am angered that Anna continues to see this man.
Final Thoughts
This movie was very fun to watch. As a movie about the mob...I can't really say if it's good for its genre. This is because I'm not familiar enough with the genre. It was a decent movie with twists and turns throughout. It was not a good movie to see if you want to believe in the goodness of humanity (as only three people, at most, are good). So I would suggest not trying to think too deeply during this movie and you'll be in for a good ride.

Through a majority of the book you think you know who can and can't be killed. But then someone dies (this spoiler is too good to ruin) and you realize that anyone can die. I love it in a book when you fear for everyone. While I love the Terminator series, you know John Connor is safe so you don't really fear for him when he gets in trouble (or at least not as much as you could). But when this person dies you get on the edge of your seat and worry for everyone (except Danny who is a whinny bitch).
A Little Like Jurassic Park in Theme
Both Jurassic Park and Micro have the same basic theme. It's the fact that nature can't be controlled because we can't even begin to understand it. In Jurassic Park that was shown when Jurassic Park shut down and the dinosaurs were released to do what they would. In Micro this is shown in a more "classic" way by shrinking the main characters and showing our world in a whole new light. It makes things that weren't dangerous to people normally, be more than a little dangerous when those people were shrunk.
Microbots and Shrunken People
Reading the start of this book I was reminded of Prey (another of Crichton's books that focuses on nanobots). Spoiler (that you'll easily figure out) the man was attacked by microbots. Luckily the book doesn't focus on the microbots a lot and instead focuses on the natural world as viewed by shrunken humans.
Final Thoughts
This was a breath of fresh air after Pirate Latitudes (Micheal Crichton's other book that was published post-posthumously). I was excited to see a complete story in this one, plus the end leaves it open to sequels (though Crichton usually didn't do sequels). There are some very adult moments in this book that are sexual (like the giant booby moment) or very violent (especially the final death scene).

Terminator 2 (Part 5)
I finish this review series up by rating the movie. What do YOU think I rated it? Watch to find out!

X-Men: First Class (2011)
Title: X-Men: First Class
Director: Matthew Vaughn
Series: X-Men
Based on the Comics Started By: Stan Lee and Jack Kirby
Starring: James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, and Jennifer Lawrence
Rated: PG-13
Released: 2011
Personal Rating: 4.5/5
Oscars: N/A
Basic Plot: Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr come together to fight a common enemy.
Overlooked Characters Shown
I think it was a good move to show mutants other than the usual ones we're used to seeing. The better thing, though, is making them just as interesting. So if you're worrying that this movie won't be good because there's no Wolverine or Cyclops: rest assured that this is not the case. I must say I wasn't familiar with Emma Frost before but grew to really love the character (in all her evilness) like I had with Wolverine.
Cameo!
I sort of lied when I said Wolverine isn't in this movie. He is in it for a small cameo. It's the part where Xavier and Erik are recruiting mutants for their X-Men team. As you can imagine, Logan/Wolverine doesn't accept the offer. Though his time on screen is so short, it was a memorable little scene.
The Final Battle
The battle at the end of the movie was just awesome. Not only was it good action, but the personal demons each character was fighting (throughout the movie) are addressed. Kevin Bacon is killed BUT that's not where the action ends. That being said: that's when Erik turns into Magneto. After Bacon is killed, the mutants have to decide how to deal with the humans who are trying to kill them. That's when Magneto and Professor X form their two different groups.
Final Thoughts
When I first heard about this movie I was a little worried. As X-Men 3 and X-Men Origins: Wolverine weren't received well by most people. But when I heard all the positive reviews I knew I had to check this movie out. I was not disappointed with this movie at all. It shows that the X-Men movie franchise has not yet died!

Note: NAZILLA IS A WOMAN!
The fact that the restaurant was a hole in the wall, so wasn't that noticeable to most of the public, made Samara uneasy enough to be my backup.

Note: NAZILLA IS A WOMAN!

Mockingjay (Suzanne Collins)
Title: Mockingjay
Series: The Hunger Games Trilogy
Author: Suzanne Collins
Released: 2010
Rating: 6/5
Basic Plot: Katniss Everdeen becomes the Mockingjay (symbol of the rebellion) as the war truly begins. aka Shit gets real!
President Coin vs. President Snow
Previously in the series President Snow is shown to be a very cruel bastard. He is willing to kill children (in the Hunger Games) to control the districts. So you naturally believe he'll do anything, but he does have rules. They are few and far between, but they are rules. Lines even he won't cross. President Coin, leader of District 13, doesn't have any rules. She'll kill children to win the war. I won't give away what her great plan was. So, in the end, the person who lead the rebellion was an asshole and not to be respected. While the person who was already in control was a bastard who had rules.
The Role of the Mockingjay
I give kudos to Collins for making Katniss Everdeen fucking pointless to the overall war against the capitol. Her role as the Mockingjay is as pure distraction. Plus it gives the rebellion a figure to follow. Someone everyone admirers and so gives strength to the rebellion. What makes this role sad is it's like Katniss never left the Capitol's control. She traded the Capitol designing her as a Hunger Games victor for District 13 designing her as a pure figurehead with no real power.
The Choice Between Gale and Peeta
Throughout The Hunger Games Trilogy there has been a love triangle between Katniss, Gale, and Peeta. In the beginning it seems like of course Katniss will end up with Gale. But in the series all three change. Katniss changes due to her actions and what she goes through in the arenas. Gale's darker side comes to the forefront. Peeta is hijacked (a form of brainwashing) and his love for Katniss has to battle through what President Snow did to him. And, by the end, there is no doubt that Katniss and Peeta have become perfect for each other.
Final Thoughts
This book is intense. I knew it would become very dark but I didn't know how dark it would get. I got up and read the part of the book where Prim dies because I didn't believe it when I read it the first time. This is a book that has deeply affected me and that I won't be able to soon forget. For better or worse, I love this book. And would recommend everyone check out The Hunger Games Trilogy (as Mockingjay won't mean as much if you haven't read the first two books before you read Mockingjay).

Does "Back to Where You've Never Been" Excuse Fringe?
One of the big problems with Fringe Season 4 has been...well...nearly the entire season. It doesn't seem to connect with the rest of the Fringe series. So does this opening of the second half of Season 4 (which was originally supposed to be the mid-season finale) excuse the previous episodes of Season 4?
I'll start off with this: This was an excellent episode. This is the first episode of this season (after Peter returned) that really made me care. That pushed all the right buttons in all the right ways (except for John Noble, plays Walter Bishop, in nothing but a green apron). Things are revealed that only have any impact when you have the information from the previous episodes.
So does "Back to Where You've Never Been" excuse Fringe for the first half of Season 4? I'm saying it doesn't. It's on the right track, don't get me wrong about that, but until Season 4 ends I'm not going to pass final judgment.
This is for the sole reason that I am still fearful that this Season will mean jack shit by the end. Though with this episode I'm a little more reassured that Season 4 will mean something by the end.
Of course one part of the episode I liked the best was Peter Bishop's mother saying there might be more than two universes (which I had guessed was going to be a factor in this season).

The Debt (2010)
Title: The Debt
Director: John Madden
Starring: Helen Mirren, Sam Worthington, and Tom Wilkinson
Rated: R
Released: 2010
Rating: 2.5/5
Basic Plot: Years after lying about killing a Nazi, those that were supposed to kill them have to figure out what to do when the "dead" Nazi is going to tell his story to a journalist.
Boring as Paint Drying on a Wall
This worthless piece of shit is boring. Which is the worst thing that a movie can be. When I watch b-movies I am entertained, even though they are horribly produced and directed. So when a b-movie is easily better than this, it means something. It's a shame it is boring since it's about killing a Nazi. Really, how can you do that?
Telling the Truth
One of the issues this movie tries to deal with is how to dealing with a lie you've told for years. How it'll harm your daughter and other people you worked with. What ruined this message for me is how it's told. And, with a movie, you need to focus on how the message is told. If I don't care about the characters, I can't care about the message.
Use of Flashbacks
Flashbacks are a good tool. However, some of the uses of flashback in this movie were annoying to me. Some seemed to take off too much time. Such as when the doctor escapes. It could've been cut shorter since you see it again in full (in the truthful version) later in the movie. So I was wondering why my time was wasted.
Final Thoughts
This movie tries to be more than it ends up being. I knew from the previews I would want to tear my eyes out when I saw this movie. I only continued to watch because of Sam Worthington and the fact that I didn't want the movie to beat me. For anyone who wants a good Nazi killing/torturing movie, this isn't the one for you. As for a movie with a message that moves you, this isn't the one for you either.

Note: NAZILLA IS A WOMAN!

Catching Fire (Suzanne Collins)
Title: Catching Fire
Series: The Hunger Games Trilogy
Author: Suzanne Collins
Released: 2009
Rating: 4.5/5
Basic Plot: Katniss Everdeen is brought into the arena again after she inadvertently started a rebellion after the previous hunger games.
The Clock Arena
I absolutely love the arena in this book. Besides providing physical challenges it provides psychological challenges. The physical challenges are interesting and you can really feel the danger that the characters face. There is technically only one psychological challenge but I am going to also count the relationships between the characters. In the first book there is not really any relationships between the characters except viewing each other as contestants.
Buildup to a Revolution
Most of the book is building up to a revolution. It shows every day people and how they react. The government is shown to be even more cruel. Well, President Snow mostly. In fact, it seems to be President Snow who is the only real cruel one. As District 12 changes and there's a rebellion in District 8 you can tell the Capitol is afraid. Oh, and the Peacekeepers shooting an old man in the head!
Rumors of District 13
Two refugees from District 8 inform Katniss that District 13 is still 'alive'. Katniss assumes it's just a dumb hope. Ever since the first book talked about District 13 I thought it might still exist. But one point against it existing is the fact that it hasn't fought against the Capitol. By the end you find out that it exists but not why it hasn't fought against the Capitol.
Final Thoughts
The reason I gave this book a 4.5/5 instead of a 5/5 is the fact that some important plot points you can understand long before Katniss does. Such as the mockingjay watch that someone shows Katniss in the Capitol. All in all, though, this is a good sequel. It expands on the previous book and raises the stakes. Plus, Collins isn't afraid to kill off great characters to help the story.

Note: NAZILLA IS A WOMAN!

Silent Hill: Sinner's Reward (comic)
Writer: Tom Waltz
Illustrator: Steph Stamb
Published: 2008
This comic was suggested by Linkara (on his show Atop the Fourth Wall) as the only good Silent Hill comic. From the Silent Hill comics I have read, this is the only one that feels like it actually takes place in Silent Hill. Since this is a comic, I won't do a proper review.
So let's get started:
The Plot
Jack runs away with his boss' wife (Jill). They, of course, eventually get pulled into the town of Silent Hill. Jack meets this girl who he takes with him while looking for his wife.
The artwork for this comic adds to the atmosphere. Plus, the ending (and why it ends that way) is just breathtaking. Is it happy? Is it sad? I would say inbetween: bittersweet.
If you are looking for a proper Silent Hill comic: this is the one to check out.

Inheritance (Christopher Paolini)
Title: Inheritance
Series: The Inheritance Cycle
Author: Christopher Paolini
Released: 2011
Rating: 4.5/5
Basic Plot: The series comes to a close as the final showdown with Galbatorix becomes a reality.
Arya and Eragon Don't Become a Couple
I can't fully express to someone who hasn't read the rest of the series how big of a deal this is. All I can say is that I waited four books and they didn't even have sex or kiss. It could be argued that they told each other their true names and that was like sex (I swear the effect of telling someone's true name to them is like giving the person an orgasm). But my point still stands: there's no resolution to their relationship. At the very end of the book it's still up in the air on how the relationship will end.
Eragon's "Destiny"
This point in the book (where Eragon discovers some Eldunari) made me pissed off to no end for awhile. You find out that the Eldunari have been controlling Eragon's actions since the first book. They made Saphira's egg go to Eragon, lead him to Arya, and other things. And, guess what, Roran had no help by them whatsoever. So this guy with no magic, isn't 'special', actually is the stronger character. Though this did give me the effect of respecting Roran much more than before.
Finally Getting to Meet Galbatorix
Meeting Galbatorix for the first time was very exciting. Luckily Paolini only had Galbatorix shown clearly during the final showdown. The description you first get (when Nasuada is captured) is creepy. Every time he's on page I love it. You have heard, throughout the series, about Galbatorix and you will not be disappointed. Galbatorix has become one of my favorite characters that I love to hate.
Final Thoughts
In some ways this is a great end to a series. Many issues are resolved but a lot are left open. Such as: The relationship between Nasuada and Murtagh, the relationship between Arya and Eragon, and the fate of The Empire. Nasuada is left in charge but she's going to do something Galbatorix was going to do and it is implied that she might be controlled by Elva. But the main thing of the series, the war with Galbatorix, is resolved. The battles leading up to the final showdown, the discoveries, and the final showdown itself are just great to behold. Paolini has also said he might write about Alagaësia sometime in the future so we might get issues resolved then.

S&N: Little Dancer 1

The Eternal Heart: Prologue
Note:This is a Terminator fanfic that combines a bunch of different timelines, twists them around, and so can't be said to follow any one certain timeline.
"Wake up, Jash." A distant voice said. I ignored it since no one should wake me. Everyone should just let me sleep. I had risked enough and lost more than anyone else. Marty, though, would be the first to tell me that I was being overdramatic. But, of course, he had lost something that I hadn't and so thought his pain was worse than mine.
"Jash." The voice, that I could now tell was a woman, hissed. Opening my eyes I could see Lillith. Her form was human but she gave off a feel more alien than a Terminator. Looking to my left I saw Tin-Miss sitting beside me. Her real name was Cameron, if Terminators could be said to have names, and she was always confused when I called her that.
The reason I had given Cameron a nickname was because it reminded me of a simpler time. It reminded me of a time when I had hope. Well, at least before I made the worst decision of my life. Even the simplest hope that Skynet could be defeated was gone. I had helped defeat Skynet twice and I didn't know if it would stay defeated this time.
Along with my hope, my sanity had run away as fast as it could. It had seemed that without my hope, there was no sanity for me anymore. It was the reason, for a short time, that I was a traitor to the Resistance. But, for the most part, my loss of sanity and hope hadn't affected my loyalty to those who fought against Skynet.
Turning to see Marty standing on the stage made me realize that my hope and sanity weren't the only things that I had lost. I considered him a comrade still, but what he had done made it impossible for our friendship to go where it once had. I knew I had betrayed him, but at least I didn't go down to the levels he went down for me.
Being here wasn't my first choice. But I was a hero of the Resistance so I had to come.
"And now, the Former Wife of John Connor, hero of the Resistance, and a personal friend of mine has chosen to speak here and now." Marty said and I walked through the crowd.
Walking through the crowd I could tell who were my admirers, worshippers, and those who thought I should've been killed long before now. I didn't disagree with any of them, though the worshippers were not that intelligent. Once I was up on the stage I looked around the room.
I did this so I could waste time from saying what I had to say. The room appeared to be a former elementary school gym that would again be used for gym and prom, among other things, after the world had been rebuilt. It would need some touching up, though.
"Thank you, Martin Bedell," I said to him. "But you were the leader of the Resistance when Skynet fell. At least the leader everyone will remember years from now."
After the cheers stopped I continued, "All you here know is that I am not from this timeline and that I came from another one. That I lead the Resistance and won the war with Skynet. I then went back in time. I ended up joining the Resistance in this timeline. I joined John's faction and eventually came back to the Resistance. This you all know."
I looked to each of them and they nodded. "However, that isn't even half of what's gone on in my life. I now will tell you my whole history so you can make a choice. This will be a choice that will affect the future of your lives. It will either destroy you or make humanity stronger."
Before any of them could say no, I began.

Young Moira
This is the reason I think some people (not me for sure) watched. While the Old Moira is wise, Young Moira is hot. Dressed in a French Maid outfit and...oh yeah. Her memorable scenes are short but...very relieving of stress. I am sad that she won't be in Season 2 (since each season will be a reboot). Er...not because she's drop dead gorgeous but because she's a very interesting character. With two great parts.
Too Many Questions
Holy fuck there are so many damn questions. You go through the good majority of the season not knowing what the hell is going on and then, by the end, it doesn't matter anyways. However, I was still watching it every week while asking myself why I was torturing myself. I must admit, though, by the end a good majority of questions were answered. I just wished there would've been more answers then questions throughout the entire season.
Tate and Violet
Tate and Violet have a great relationship throughout this season. Tate is a great character in that he's a murdering psychopath but has a very caring side. Violet is attracted to this and throughout all she learns about him she sticks by his side. The deal breaker, though, is when Violet finds out that Tate raped her mother. How their relationship goes after that is very realistic, though heartbreaking all the same. This is a very serious reason I don't want the cast for this season to be thrown away.
Final Thoughts
This is a horrible show that I can't stop watching. I really wish I could. I really wish I could walk away and not be into this show. A lot (read: 99.9%) depends a lot on shock value. In other words: for you to not know what's going on. This is okay when you're beginning but not answering questions is more annoying as time goes on. And the guy saying he didn't make rules for the ghosts? What the hell does that mean? So a final warning: Don't start to watch this series and save yourself! Once you start you can never stop!

Thir13en Ghosts (2001)
Title: Thir13en Ghosts
Director: Steve Beck
Type: Remake
Starring: Tony Shalhoub, Shannon Elizabeth, and Embeth Davidtz
Rated: R
Released: 2001
Personal Rating: 4.5/5
Horror Genre Rating: 3.5/5
B-Movie Genre Rating: Why do people think this is a b-movie?
Oscars: N/A
Basic Plot: A nephew inherits his Uncle's mansion and then gets sucked into a nightmare.
Substance Over Horror
There are a bunch of people saying that the graphics in this movie are good but they aren't scary. While it didn't make me run around screaming (or give me nightmares) it was a very unnerving experience all the same. This is helped by the graphics and how so much effort was put into the ghosts (aka, they aren't just crappy CGI). I can see how some horror veterans won't be that scared, but others should be able to have a great time.
The Thirteenth Ghost
Spoiler: The PETA-type woman was lying. You can guess that Arthur doesn't die (so he isn't the thirteenth ghost). I'm discussing this because on imdb's FAQ about the movie, this is the only question on it. Dennis Rafkin (the best character in the movie! ) is the thirteenth ghost. Dennis sacrificed himself for Arthur and so became the thirteenth ghost. This proves that the Thirteenth Ghost stopping the machine (aka Mansion) was a big lie set up by Arthur's Uncle.
Nudity and Gore
The Angry Princess is always nude and frightening. Well...would be if her knockers weren't so noticeable (but I'll let you find that out on your own). The gore in this movie is very blatant, but it is always used to set up the atmosphere and not for pure shock value. Let me clarify my point this way: the gore isn't there just to be gory. It's used to heighten the atmosphere. It doesn't go overboard in that sense. But those who don't like gore should probably take caution before viewing this film.
Final Thoughts
I highly enjoyed this movie. The acting was good and the ghosts were excellent. This was a great take on a haunted house film. The house wasn't haunted by accident, it was purposefully made to be haunted. And the coolest part? It was basically a machine of Satan himself! I would highly recommend this movie to those who want to see a different take on the haunted house genre.

The YouReviewers Awards are Coming in 2012
For those that don't know (and I don't want to know how many) a group of people on YouTube started their own versions of the Oscars. In their first year (this will be their second) they started off great with the voices of the common man (and not the stuck up Oscars people) being heard. They also managed to get some real celebrities (for some odd reason they never contacted me).
I was very glad when I heard the news that the YouReviewers Awards are now an annual thing. I really hope you will support this and spread the word about it.
It is a really awesome award show with some great hosts. They even have an ape (Mark from schmoesknow)!

Happy 2012 New Year
This is the year the world ends (December 22), the year The Avengers movie comes out, and the year I start to write my first fanfic in many years. I was glad of last year that I blogged and met my boyfriend (Brian/revrezner). Last night I spent my first New Years Eve with him. We spent the night with some of his friends and rank. That being said, I am recovering from last night.
Lots of people make New Years' Resolutions but I don't. I just have things I plan to do every year. This year I plan to continue reviewing all the Terminator movies, continuing my written series (S&N, The Green, and Sushi, Sake, and Tanuki), plus continuing my relationship with Brian.
I hope that everyone had a great night and recovers quickly from last night. And, if you do have New Years' Resolutions: What are they?
This day last year I moved over to this blog from my livejournal (acrazyraven).
