Tobias and Me 7

I can hear! Cat shouted.

For the past five minutes Cat had been pointing out everything she could hear and do while being a hawk. I felt like I was being complimented and that was one of the reasons that I was allowing her to continue. The other was that it would be rude to tell her to stop.

This was her first time really exploring a morph and she should revel in it. It wouldn’t be like that every time she morphed, after all. Some morphs were horrifying and other times there wasn’t enough time to take delight in different morphs.

Cat had mentioned the fact that she could hear better a couple of times and I didn’t blame her.

I’m sure some of the others will tell you morphs that have better hearing than a red-tailed hawk. I told her. I prefer my hawk morph above everything else.

I don’t blame you for liking this hawk morph. Cat said.

Thank you. I replied as I couldn’t think of what else to say.

While I was paying attention to Cat, I still looked down at the ground. The alien landscape was amazing, to say the least. It was breathtaking to realize that I was flying over an alien landscape. Of course the fact was that I still had to figure out how to get back to Earth. I needed to get back home so I could continue the fight and to make sure that Cat also got back home.

Where did you live before you got abducted? I asked Cat.

England. Cat said. Wasn’t a Hork-Bajir the morph you were in when you met me?

Before I could ask her why she wanted that confirmed I saw a group of Hork-Bajir. They looked like they were on patrol more than that they were trying to find us. Maybe the Yeerks didn’t find me that important or there were others out to get me.

Probably the latter.

Yes, those are Hork-Bajir. I told her. Probably scouts.

So that means we’re close to the base? She asked.

And our way home.

I was happy. Finally the way back was looking clearer. I’d still need to figure out the right co-ordinates but I think I had a better idea of the controls of a Bug fighter now. If I didn’t, we would hopefully arrive back home before the Yeerks completed their invasion of Earth.

Do you think I could acquire one? Cat asked. If you don’t have a hang up about the whole intelligence thing.

I don’t have any problem with you acquiring one. The Hork-Bajir I acquired gave me permission. But any Hork-Bajir here will be a Controller so you don’t have that option. Plus sneaking in and fighting will be much easier while being a Hork-Bajir.

Won’t any of your friends disagree?

Cassie, maybe, but the others won’t get mad. Or at least they won’t show me that they’re mad.

So how do I go about acquiring one?

I had to think. Cat acquiring one was a necessity now since a Hork-Bajir wouldn’t look out of place at a Yeerk base. Plus the fact that if Cat decided she wanted to fight the Yeerks on Earth then that would be a good battle morph. If she didn’t worry about Hork-Bajir being intelligent, she would find the morph very useful.

Hell, if she decided she wanted to use fire arms she could. She could become more of a danger than Rachel in her grizzly bear morph. Not that any of us would tell Rachel that if Cat became that good.

We need to draw one away from the group. I replied. But that would mean that there would be a time where you would be vulnerable and they would see that you have the morphing power.

I didn’t go on to say that if the Yeerks saw one human with the ability to morph that they might assume the Andalite bandits weren’t all Andalites.

Which one? Cat asked.

I don’t know. It will be whichever one doesn’t stay with the group. I replied.

So it will be random.

Yeah.

But it will be worth getting the morph, right? Cat asked after a long pause.

Yes. I said.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II (Return to Kamino)

This latest session has left me the most pooped since it was really the hardest part for me. I got lost and then jumping levels from Hell came into being.

So let's get started for today!
I started off with arriving on Kamino after crashing the Salvation. I will say that I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the beginning of this part. You really get the sensation that you are in a building that is falling apart.

I do a little jumping and get to a small cutscene where Starkiller talks to Kota. Kota is surprised and happy that Starkiller is alive and tells him where to go.

After that part I got confused where to go and found myself going in circles for around two years. I tried to find a walkthrough to tell my dumb ass where to go and that was a little less than useless. So I spent around five more minutes going in circles and yelling at whoever wasn't making walkthroughs and I think I even insulted Starkiller a few times.

I never understood why people yelled at video game characters but now I know why.
I finally found where to continue and I was so damn happy. Especially when I got to fight enemies.

Nothing exciting happened except at a few pints.

At one point you keep running down a hallway outside and while that's going on you get shot at by a few Tie Fighters. It happened first and I was going "WTF is going on?!" for two or four Tie Fighters. I'm sure I could've tried pulling them down with Force Grip but I ended up just using Force Lighting until they stopped flying by. I don't know if using Force Lightning actually did damage, though.

The next hard section is a jumping section. What makes this jumping section so difficult? Some of the platforms have a force field that will come on and so you have to time jumping when the force field isn't active or else you have the very high chance of being pushed off the platform. Then you have to start the Hell section again.
What makes the second of these sections so maddening is that it comes a few minutes after the first one. I'm surprised I didn't explode due to frustration during these sections.

Luckily I ended my session with a giant brawl. I was able to use Force Rage a few times which just felt wonderful after the jumping sections.

For the plot aspect this time around: Starkiller decides to break off from the Rebels to try and rescue Juno. Kota tries to make Starkiller decide differently, but that doesn't happen.

Deaths Have Changed
Last season was full of not knowing who was going to die and having story arcs cut short because characters kept dying. While you could argue that this means that this season had stronger writing, I miss last season where you didn't know who would die. That was some great excitement there. There are only two deaths this season that really hit me hard. Then again, they weren't as out of the blue as some deaths from last season.

Poe is Gone
In the first season Joe Carrol ran his cult around the ideas of Poe. In this season that changes. I doubt he'll ever get over his love of Poe, but he decides to change how the cult runs. This is really because he runs into a few problems so he has to change to survive. Plus there is the fact that he begins to hold a grudge against someone.

Emma
Emma is a character I have liked since Season 1. She had a good run this season too. Her obsession/love of Joe proved to be the real thing. As real a love as a person like her could feel. In different parts of this season she didn't agree with everything Joe said and even tried to pull him back a few times. A relationship, a good one, isn't just agreeing with your partner/lover but reminding them when they're being an idiot.

Final Thoughts
I would say that this is a better season though the killing parts weren't like the first Season. However, there are still twists and turns that make for a good ride. Ryan Hardy and Mike Weston make a great team while Ryan's niece makes a nice addition to the cast. One of the highlights of this Season is that it starts off at the end of the last one. If you liked the first Season you should like this one too. If you didn't like the first Season the writing of the second Season probably won't be better for you.
