As the sun went over the horizon, we ate venison stew with a few loafs of potato bread. Eola ate quickly as she was good enough to give me privacy with the man I loved. Alex ate slowly as to better savor the heat from the stew. I ate just fast enough to keep pace with him.
"You fought well, Alex." I said and looked at him.
The memories of all his features were the only things that could stay with me. Unless he agreed to my plan. The Companions had thought they were being tricked into the fate I wanted for Alex. But, truth is, they knew the consequences and just regretted them. What you want never seems like it is too costly in the moment. Would Alex really want an eternity with me? Would he regret it later? Would he even remember me when we met again?
"I would have died if not for you, Jash." Alex said as he held my gaze.
"I'll patrol the area, Champion." Eola said after she finished.
Eola faded into the darkness of the storm. She would stay close enough to respond to any threat and far enough away to grant me privacy.
"Why were you asking about heaven?" Alex asked once the cannibal was out of sight.
"I don't want this to be our only time together." I began. "I want to you again. And there is a way we can see each other again."
"I'm not going to bring the Dark Presence here again. Before was an accident and if I did it again I would intentionally be harming everyone here."
"I would never choose my love over the safety of Tamriel."
Alex's tension faded and there was hope in his eyes. It was guarded but it was there. He would listen to me at least.
"While we live, we are trapped in our realities." I said. "But when we die our souls will go to our designated afterlives. I ask that you join me in Hircine's Hunting Fields after we have both lived full lives."
"The Hunting Fields doesn't exist where I'm from." Alex argued.
"It doesn't matter. If you connect to it while in Skyrim, your soul will be eternally bound to it. Unless you sever that connection while still alive."
"What do I have to do? Do I have to get on my hands and knees for Hircine?"
"More than that. You'll have to become a werewolf. I will transform and let you drink my blood. That will infect you and you'll become a werewolf. Just be aware you'll be transform without meaning to once you do."
"You'll make sure I don't hurt anyone?"
"Who could we hurt out here?"
I spread my arms wide to indicate how desolate and lonely the now dark land was. There wasn't a fire in sight in all the miles that could be seen.
"And you're sure that this will work?" Alex asked as he stood up, putting his finished meal beside him.
"I am certain." I answered and he followed me a short distance away from the fire.
Just as the fire became engulfed by the night, I stopped and transformed. My body twisted and turned into a werewolf. I could see by my love's eyes that the process looked more painful than it actually was. If not for the increased bloodlust and innate power of this form, I would have been on the ground crying out in pain.
"When you first transform, the hunt will overwhelm you, Alex." I said in a feral voice. "Over time it will become easier to control. The need to hunt will always be there but that instinct can be controlled."
"I'm ready, Kys." Alex replied in a voice that sounded certain but my werewolf ears easily picked up the nervousness underneath.
With a swift movement of my claw, I slit my arm so some blood came out. I gently pressed my other paw to the back of Alex's head and he bit down on me. A growl left my mouth as he started to drink my blood. If we had been in Whiterun, the Circle would have made me put my blood into a bowl.
Such a desecration of an act that was, at its heart, feral and barbaric.
Suddenly Alex backed away and cried out as my small wound healed itself. I looked down at him with envy as the first time one transformed was the most magical. His limbs looked like they were being pulled by an unseen force as fur began covering his body. The dryskin cry of pain turned into the howl of a wolf.
The man increased in size and his weak body was replaced by something meant to kill. His weak dryskin body twisted, turned, and grew into a thing created to be admired by Hircine.
Alex's teeth were the last thing to change. It had been disturbing to see a werewolf without teeth that could rip and tear a dragon apart. So when his human teeth were finally replaced I breathed a sigh of relief.
Once he transformed he bared his teeth at me and growled. But I was experienced enough to know the sounds and movements weren't signs he was going to attack me. They were signs of arousal that couldn't be contained and he wasn't aware enough yet to control them.
Our lovemaking was feral and if anyone was watching they couldn't have guessed we were two sentient creatures.
"Kys..." Alex said after we had finished.
"You're a good boy." I teased as I lay down next to him and pulled him into a soft embrace.
"That was the best **** of my life. Are you-"
"I'm not hurt, my love. You think you could have ****** me if I didn't want you to? If I couldn't stop you then Eola would have heard my cries of pain."
He pressed his head into my chest and I ran my paw through his fur until he fell asleep.
