The last thing she expects him to do is to inform her that she is a witch who has magical powers and that her powers will multiply even more on her 19th birthday. Things get even more confusing when she finds out his name is Chase, that he is her guardian Angel, and it is his mission to protect and guide her to fulfil her destiny, which is sealing a magical portal (known as Apollyon’s Portal) shut to stop a shape shifting demon from unleashing hell on earth.

Scared of what might possibly happen if she chooses to ignore Chase’s warning, Indigo decides to learn more about her magical past revealing dark family secrets that threaten to send her spiralling out of control.

When the demon starts to shape-shift into people closest to Indigo, she realises that not only is her own life at risk, but also the life of her beloved sister Josie. Will Indigo be able to save the people she loves, or will the demon find a way to stop her from sealing the portal permanently?

What was the inspiration for writing Apollyon's Portal?

My inspiration for writing this book was, to be honest, because I wanted to portray a young woman who was living a normal kind of hum drum life life and not necessarily wanting to be a witch but basically finding out that she had become one not by choice, but by design and that there was nothing she could do to prevent it. Even though she initially tried to do just that.

What was the writing process like for Apollyon's Portal?

I really enjoyed writing this book so it was kind of therapeutic for me. I've always loved supernatural stories, programmes and films, so it was a niche that I was keen to explore.

What music did you listen to while writing Apollyon's Portal?

I listened to different types of music while I was writing this book. It pretty much depended on the scene I was writing at that particular point in time.

What was your favorite scene in Apollyon's Portal to write?

My favourite scene in the book was when my character embraced her new identity and realises that her destiny and path in life was different to what she had thought had been mapped out for her.

What was the hardest scene in Apollyon's Portal to write?

The hardest scene in the book was definitely when the main character suffered the biggest loss of all and was grieving for that immense loss.
