What was the inspiration for writing The Wild Adventures of The Elephant and The Turtle?

My inspiration for writing The Wild Adventures of The Elephant and The Turtle was to once again let children simply be children. There are children growing up not having a real understanding of what having integrity and a positive character means. Many children of today amaze me with their lack of respect and compassion for others.
