Sayings Sundays (March 9, 2014)

Animorphs was my biggest fandom. I have not gotten really obsessed with a series like I did with Animorphs (Star Wars might give it a run for its money, though).

I didn't pay attention to anything Animorphs related for years but a few things stuck with me through my long hiatus from the series. One of those things is the most haunting line from the series I can remember.

It is said at the end of #6 The Capture and you only grasp its full importance in #26 The Attack. It is said by who you find out to be the devil like creature in the Animorphs Universe: Crayak.

That is why I chose this quote.

My guilty pleasure in music is Taylor Swift. Whenever I'm down I can listen to her and get all happy again. Well...at least slightly less down than I was before.

I don't mind who she is as a person since her music manages to brighten any of my cloudy days.

So why do I have a picture of Bruce Banner/The Hulk along with this quote?

In the latest chapter of my erotica Mean Green Shagging Machine the Taylor Swift song Enchanted helped me write a good chunk of it. I'm not saying Swift always puts me in the mood, but she sure does help at times.

Hannibal "Sakizuki" Review

This episode has creeped me out the most in the series so far. And that's only the opening scene! The opening picks up right after we left out in the last episode. The black guy wakes up all spooked and pulls himself away from the others around him.

This is made even more disturbing by the sound effects and how long the camera lingers on the action. While I was being grossed out, and yelling at the tv, the truth is I was really rooting for the guy. The emotion I took away from the scene was caring for a character. I wanted him to survive. I was cheering him on all through the opening and then he died.

And I yelled at the tv some more.

Bedelia is shown to be an extremely strong willed character in this episode. In previous episodes she was never weak, but in this one she really shined brightly. This is exemplified in her confrontation with Hannibal in the beginning of the episode.

Bedelia holds her ground while she backs away from Hannibal and the cannibal seems impressed. I think he lets her go both because he knows that he can deal with her trouble and he admires her. Hannibal is very much attracted to strong willed people (Will and Clarice spring to mind) and it's no wonder that he would admire a person that could face him like Bedelia did.

Will Graham has to continue to defend himself in this episode. One of the creepy funny things this time around was when he said "One of these things is not like the other..."

The scene was more creepy because of the reference being from a kid's show, but it was slightly amusing because I was trying to make sure I hadn't imagined hearing the line.

The other golden line that Will said was, "This isn't my design."

I really love that line because it's a twist on "This Is My Design".

The end scene to the episode is oddly touching as Hannibal kills the killer. Hannibal, who can be a ferocious enemy, comforts the killer as he kills him. Comforting the man by saying that Hannibal has finished the piece.

Next week seems to be focusing on Will's trial which should be very interesting indeed!

Tobias and Me 2

I had messed up. I had messed up good. I could hear Rachel laughing in the back of my mind and I shivered from the sound.

Fluffing my feathers I looked out into deep space. Or maybe it wasn't deep space at all. Maybe if I kept on going in the direction I was already going I'd see Jupiter. Hell, maybe I'd see Earth's Moon.

I looked at my Red-Tailed Hawk reflection on the inside of the Bug fighter. This was the last thing of home I would ever see. A hawk where one didn't belong and a boy in a body he wasn't born in. Though, truth be told, I belonged in this body more than I did in my old one.

Maybe that's why Rachel and I were apart for the moment. Or maybe she wouldn't have been meant for me even if I hadn't become a nothlit.

Hours had passed and I kept staring in the dark that was littered with tiny spots of lights that were stars. The thought of going into Z-space again crossed my mind, but I quickly dismissed it.

Even though going back into Z-space would mean I had the chance of returning home sooner, it could also mean that I'd end up farther away from home than I was now.

So all I did was keep on looking out into space for hours, or maybe it was days, as I waited for something to happen. Even if that thing was the Bug fighter randomly exploding.

At least I wouldn't have to worry about my family worrying about me. My father had been eaten by Visser Three and my mother was dead. And my Aunt and Uncle couldn't muster even a shit to give about me.

Suddenly I saw something on the Bug fighter's view screen. It didn't appear to be anything from the Yeerks and so I decided I had to communicate with it. If it turned out to be bad news then at least something would happen.

I worked at the controls and tried to figure out how to contact the alien craft.

Hello? Hello? I kept asking as I tried to contact the aliens.

As I waited and thought that my lack of knowledge of alien technology would be the death of me, I heard a reply.

It appeared to be a form of the language that the Hork-Bajir Controllers on Earth used. I think Ax had said it was Galard and it was the language used for trading. I concentrated on figuring out what the alien was saying.

I assumed the alien had said some form of a greeting.

I am- I began and then the alien replied angrily in Galard.

I mean no harm. I am just in need. I told the alien and then got a good glimpse at the alien's ship.

The ship reminded me of the cheesy sci-fi movies where aliens are invading the Earth. That could only mean that I was talking to a Skrit Na. The Skrit Na were cowards that never took sides in any conflict. At least according to Ax.

I'll make a trade. I told the Skrit Na. I have been to the planet Earth recently and can give you a piece of human clothing. Help me get back to Earth and I'll let you have it.

While I waited for their response I morphed a Hork-Bajir before letting them see me. And when they did see me the conversation was a little more than awkward. They quickly found out that I couldn't understand them and assumed it was because my translator chip had been broken.

I assumed part of the conversation directly following that was asking if they could remove the chip from my head. To this I angrily shook my head.

The final bit of the conversation had us agreeing to some sort of truce. All I had to do was follow them to a planet that was close by. As I followed them I demorphed and waited until the planet was in sight before morphing back to Hork-Bajir.

Landing on the alien planet was awkward for a few reasons. The first being that going on any other planet than Earth was still something I wasn't used to. The second being that the whole planet seemed to be covered by a forest.

But it wasn't a forest like on Earth. The trees seemed to be creatures that couldn't move while I saw a few flying creatures that had pieces of leaves attached to their bodies.

All in all it was different than Earth.

When I landed and met up with the Skrit Na I saw them coming out with some cargo. I guess they wanted to show how awesome they were before accepting my payment. That they didn't have to accept my offer, but they were going to because they were kind. I held out a little bit of my morphing suit, I had morphed to human very briefly after contacting the Skrit Na, and I somehow felt beaten by these aliens.

Then a piece of the cargo came out and I was beyond shocked.

Ax had told me that the Skrit Na would take creatures of primitive planets and put them into zoos. But it's one thing to hear that and another thing to see a human being lead out like an item.

The human was a young woman, in her early twenties, and seemed to be wearing a hearing aid. Maybe the Skrit Na chose her because of what they would see as an odd alien device. She didn't look happy and I knew that I had to get her back home.

No matter what.

revrezner's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Fan Theory: The Clairvoyant

This is still me, jashykins, writing this post but the theory is mostly revrezner's. I have been wanting him to get his own blog for so long and this theory is a great example of why. If you're wondering: he requested I write the post myself. Some of the theory is my own, but revs' theory forms the majority of it and is the reason I was able to create my own speculations.

So here we go!

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has a big ongoing mystery. The big mystery is what happened to Coulson and why. We've gotten hints and clues to what happened to Coulson, but the why has never really been explained. Behind the Scenes, of course, the why is because Coulson is too fucking awesome to keep dead.

But the show's answer is going to be different, of course.

The episode T.A.H.I.T.I. seems to have a big hint of what is actually up with both the Clairvoyant and how Coulson was brought back to life.

Now here are some things that we know about Coulson:
-He is different than he was before. There have been numerous characters commenting on how much he has changed since New York.

-He was dead for a LONG time and the process used to bring him back wasn't one many seemed to agree with (at one point one of the doctors says that they should've let Coulson die).

-He begged to die.

Now here are some things that we know about the Clairvoyant:
-This person is obsessed with Coulson.

-This person seems to know a lot and leaving out magic: this means this person has a way to get a lot of classified information.

-This person WANTED Skye seriously injured to get Coulson to go to the facility where Coulson was operated on.

In T.A.H.I.T.I. it seems that Skye was meant to be injured so that Coulson would lead the Clairvoyant to how Coulson was brought back to life. But what if that wasn't the case at all? What if the Clairvoyant wanted Coulson to go where the operation was performed so that this person could be freed?

It is my and revrezner's opinion that the Clairvoyant isn't a human but a being that lives inside people (think of like a tapeworm but it won't kill you and it isn't from Earth most likely). And the process that brought Coulson back to life also put part of the Clairvoyant inside of him.

The Clairvoyant would be able to work telepathically so that it could do things (like imitating the sound of a cellphone and forming a human voice) while not alerting Coulson to its presence. However, the presence of the Clairvoyant is affecting how Coulson reacts to the world.

Remember: Coulson is acting differently than before he was killed and brought back to life.
And why do I think the Clairvoyant isn't from Earth? The body that was found in the episode T.A.H.I.T.I. seemed to be like the invading alien force from The Avengers (and, yes, the movie Prometheus did come to my mind too).

Coulson also could've felt the Clairvoyant entering him (the drug used to help Coulson with his operation was most likely gotten from the alien corpse) and that's why he was begging to die. Not because he was in so much pain, but that he was feeling an alien presence enter his head.

And the reason why he was given false memories? So that he wouldn't remember the alien presence either because Nick Fury didn't want Coulson to know or that he thought that erasing Coulson's memories would mean that the Clairvoyant couldn't control him.

However, as has been seen, the Clairvoyant has been able to influence some of Coulson's actions though not to the extent it wants.

I think once Coulson saw the alien corpse he either recalled what happened or, more likely, was able to connect the alien presence in his head to the corpse and then to the drug.

So when he was running out of the facility saying not to use the drug on Skye he finally figured out what was actually happening: The Clairvoyant had been trying for awhile to find another host and found its chance in Skye. It saw that Coulson adored Skye as a daughter and knew if it put Skye in harm's way (aka having her be seriously injured) that Coulson would go back to the facility its body is contained in. Then Coulson would allow things to happen where Skye would be its new host.

It is my opinion that the Clairvoyant can be in two hosts at once.

As for the ending of the episode:
Coulson can't remember why he didn't want the drug to be used on Skye because the Clairvoyant was able to block out those thoughts/memories from Coulson's mind once it entered Skye. So Coulson now can't remember what he knew about the Clairvoyant.

This means that Skye might be fully controlled by the Clairvoyant in the near future. I am a Whedonite and I know Joss Whedon is one of those people that would think of following that plot line.
