There are no mid or post credits scene. The fact that I heard a few people yawning during the movie is a good sign you might want to leave as soon as the credits start.
I love the Mission Impossible series for twisting plots and over the top action sequences. This entry in the series is no different. There are long and intense action sequences that will keep you at the edge of your seats. Especially since Tom Cruise does his own stunts. So when you see him in a dangerous situation, it is really him in danger. There are also moments of calm so you can understand the plight of the characters.
Hayley Atwell does an excellent job as Grace. She gives the character charm so you are rooting for her. Though Grace isn't all sunshine and kittens. She is a thief who was tricked into becoming involved with the Entity. When Ethan Hunt is looking for the other half of the key, it is Grace who has it. But, of course, things don't go as they're supposed to and she ends up getting more and more involved as the movie continues. Some have suggested that Grace take on the position of main character if the series is to go on after Dead Reckoning Part Two. To me I think that's a good idea as she has enough of a presence to become the main character.
There is an action sequence near the end where Ethan jumps onto a train. What makes this even more intense is that before he makes his landing, there is already a fight going on. In fact you'll be utterly distracted that when Ethan makes his landing, it's almost like a jump scare. Another big action sequence is a car chase in Rome. Ethan and Grace are handcuffed together so the driving is...well...a little complicated. Both action sequences were highly enjoyable.
I would highly recommend Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One to fans of the Mission Impossible series. I would also recommend Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One to those looking for an intense action movie.
