Before He Was Her Headmaster (Mini-Review)

Before He Was Her Headmaster is one of a series by Chloe Maine that involves Conception Ridge. Lily is being controlled by her father and decides to have a one night stand at a truck stop with a handsome man in order to do something adventurous. Sebastian takes Lily's virginity in a grandiose fashion and she is happy. That is until she realizes that Sebastian is the headmaster of the boarding school she's enrolled in for the next three months.

This book was a breath of fresh air after the previous book I read. I chose this book specifically because I needed something light, fun, and sensual. I love age gap stories where women run across stronger, older men. It's not the kind of thing I would pursue in real life, but a book isn't reality. Plus I like that Sebastian is Lily's headmaster as it spices up the book even more.

Stacey, Lily's friend, could have easily been nothing more than an obstacle. It's stated that the friend has a major crush on Sebastian and is looking for an appropriate time to ask him. A lesser author would have had Stacey try to thwart Lily and Sebastian's relationship. Instead she remains a good and loyal friend throughout the book. She also serves as the only friend Lily talks to besides Sebastian.

Even though the twist of Sebastian being Lily's headmaster was obvious, it was still amusing to see both characters realize who they had done the night before. Besides being funny, it shows the moral character of both. They could have instantly decided to start a romantic and sexual relationship but they had to debate whether or not it was a good thing to do. This does make the book more spicy and also highlights that Lily and Sebastian are good people.

I would highly recommend Before He Was Her Headmaster by Chloe Maine to those that need a hot and steamy age gap story.
