The Lover in Me 4

The candlelight shifted the shadows on the scrolls I was reading. I had performed a spell so that the chilly night air did not disturb me. Luckily Marco wasn't here to disturb my current task of planning who would perform coitus in the third nest this time.

I grasped my head as I tried to think of who would be a good match this time around. What dragons would have the necessary genes to please the Shadowbinder? What genes did we need? What type of dragons would others be searching for this time of year?

Sipping more of my water, I looked at the charts I had made. Nazilla had strong genes for certain. She was Seitou's bodyguard, after all. If she was weak she would have never been given that position. But who to pair her with?

The Rage Within (RachelBerenson's Journal)

I could barely contain myself. I should have slept longer, but the thrill of an upcoming battle made it impossible for me to sleep. As the sun started to rise, I did some stretches. Seitou had ordered that all the warriors should fight off a clan of the Arcane Flight and Elfangor had agreed.

Those servants of the Arcanist had grown too confident in the domain of the Shadowbinder. I was more than willing to help teach them to keep off of our deity's territory.

And yet...as much as I loved the thrill of the upcoming battle, I feared how much I was anticipating it.

Who is Kylo Ren?

Even Kylo Ren's real name isn't known. Who do I think he is and why?

Glenn: Alive or Dead?

In The Walking Dead episode "Thank You" Glenn might not have actually died.

Crayak (Table of Contents)

I am Crayak, also called Crayon by my mate Ellimist, and I design bioweapons in Seitou's clan. I am of the Shadow Flight and serve the Shadowbinder.

I am non-binary and go by it pronouns. Only Ellimist knows this as my reasoning is that I am completely worthless. My adoring mate is the only one I trust with this information. I originally set out to serve the Plaguebringer, but some series of events led me to eventually serving the Shadowbinder.

Blood, Gore, and the Horror Genre Giveaway (Flight Rising)

Update: The giveaway is over. Thanks to everyone that participated. Maybe you were a member of Flight Rising and this giveaway made you a fan of my blog. Or maybe you're a fan of my blog who has suddenly learned about Flight Rising. If you're the latter, keep on the lookout for the next registration window.

If you are a member of Flight Rising and can't wait until my next giveaway to get dragons from me. You can always check out the Auction House and my Dragon Shop for dragons I'm selling.

I also do nest rentals and lend out my cauldron.

If you want to find out more about my clan feel free to check out my dragon's journals and the clan's facebook page.

Even though the giveaway is over, feel free to talk about the horror genre.

The horror genre seems to have been given a bad rep as of late. Terms like 'sick puppies' describe people like me who adore the horror genre. People who want to get scared out of their minds as they find that fun. Is it odd?

That's a question for another day.

While I adore b-movies, I do find a problem with horror movies and tv shows recently. A lot of the time they seem to show gore for gore's sake instead of having a good atmosphere with gore serving the plot.

Psycho (1960) is a slasher film, yet it isn't like the Final Destination films in their rush to show you the most gruesome deaths. It builds up an atmosphere and you get a sense of caring for the characters. That is why you care about who lives and who dies.

The Hannibal series (tv show, movies, and books) deal with the issue of cannibalism, among other things, and yet the series is held in high regards. This is due to, again, the characters holding things together. Hannibal Lecter, who is usually heralded as one of the best villains, is given more depth than a simple killer. He is made into an actual person.

Those are examples of exceptional horror. I'm not saying I hate movies like Final Destination, I was super excited to find all of the movies in one collection, but that the horror genre needs more variety.

In my quest to give back to my loyal blog readers, here's another giveaway. This time I'm giving away dragons (I know, shocking) from the site Flight Rising. Unlike Dragon Cave, you can't sign up at any time but have to wait for a registration window. Go to the HOME PAGE of Flight Rising to check when the next registration window is. Even if you can't make this giveaway, you can participate in a future one. I am jashykins on the site.

Now this giveaway is running a little differently than my Dragon Cave one due to how breeding is done on Flight Rising. The number of dragons I give away each time is dependent on how many eggs are produced. I have selling my dragons in the Auction House and Exalting others as part of my income on the site. Losing a little here and there is fine, giving away half of my dragons each time is a no no for me.

This time I am giving away two dragons.

Below are listed the rules of this giveaway:

Soma: A Deeper Look

A day or two ago I started watching a Let's Play by markiplier of the game Soma. I don't tend to watch Let's Plays as it means me keeping up with new parts coming out or just needing a lot of time to watch the entire thing.

But I watched this one. I then got so invested in the story, so many twists and turns, that I ended up watching another Let's Play of the same game by TheRPGMinx. Even though I have finished watching the game last night, it is still with me.

It left me with questions, as well as disturbing images, and so I felt the great need to make a blog post about it. I woke up drafting the first chapter of a fic that would continue the story (I don't have the time to write it so that's probably not going to happen).

Before I continue, I must warn you that there will be major spoilers. So if you don't want to be spoiled you can go play the game or watch any of the two Let's Plays I linked to.

For those of you sticking with this: get ready for a wild ride.
