Crossing the Divide 79

"I worked at the Umbrella Corporation for some time." I replied. "Having the boss be in love with you helped me. I didn't do much of anything and yet laying in his bed helped me to achieve certain information."

"If you knew so much, why didn't you try and stop Wesker?"

"Albert Wesker is a good man for posters but he isn't the owner of Umbrella. That honor belongs to Doctor Alexander Isaacs. As for why I didn't stop him: the end was coming no matter what I did, so I prepared for the oncoming apocalypse instead."

"That seemed to have worked out great."

My hand had gone to my belly and Alice's hand had gone to her gun as we had talked. I had reached for my belly as I missed Alex and worried about the fate of our child. I worried that it would die before even being born. I worried that I would have to kill my love. Again.

"I am not going to attack you." I reassured her. "If I was going to kill you, you'd be dead already."

"Lots of people have said that to me." Alice replied mockingly.

"You think you're invincible. People who have faced off against you have thought they were invincible. I know I am only mortal. If I attacked you I would be very careful and not let confidence get the best of me."

In Game of Thrones it isn't safe to adore a bunch of characters. This is because, well, a lot of them die. More like half of them die. Maybe more than half. It is what makes the show exciting as you don't know who will make it to the next episode. There are always consequences for actions and no one is safe. Except in Season 7 but that is a story for another day.

So to make sure I don't go crazy over all the deaths, I ended up choosing one character to care for. One character that I truly cared if they died. Now I do have other characters I like and hope they don't die, but if there was only one character to make it out it would be this one. Okay...so this decision wasn't entirely conscious but I was careful not to let myself feel the same way about other characters.

That character I chose is Ser Jorah Mormont. Not a perfect person, who is in Game of Thrones, but someone who has grown as a character since the show began. He has made it to the final season and I'm not holding my breath that he'll survive the final season as I'm a pessimist at heart.

August and September 2017 Releases (Jash's Dragon Army)

Dragon Cave recently released four new breeds. The Spinel Wyvern has a green variation that I wasn't able to get by the time I wrote this post. I plan to breed one in the near future, though.

Crossing the Divide 78

"Maybe now we can discuss the other matter." I said once the pair had finished.

"Father believed strongly in keeping a Stark at Winterfell." Jon replied.

"For all we know it could have been a myth created by time." Jorah added. "Just like R'hllor. Maybe it is true but in a way we can't think of yet."

"We have enough dragons to do what is needed." Jon argued.

The plan had been discussed on and off for a few days now. The basic gist was we would take our dragons to the Night's King's army and cause as much damage as we could. We would then come back and prepare for a slightly weaker army. Maybe one that could be easily defeated. I wanted all my dragons to attack to have the best chance at making a dent in the Night's King's army. That meant Arya and Viserion would need to leave Winterfell.

"Maybe we do." I replied. "But what if one or two are killed in the fight? While the plan doesn't need a pack of dragons, we have to prepare for losing a few. If that happens-"

"So we have a slightly weaker force going against the Night's King but still-" Jon began.

"Having a larger amount of dragons for this skirmish means more of the Army of the Dead can be killed." Jorah interrupted. "The more we kill now the less we have to worry about when the War for the Dawn truly begins. Once this skirmish is over Arya can return to Winterfell. There weren't Starks in Winterfell for a time and yet it still stands."

A Marriage of Convenience 1

My ancestors had conquered the Seven Kingdoms and created the Iron Throne. Aegon had been able to make Westeros his new home, a home that he ruled. It had seemed that he had conquered this land so easily in the stories I had heard since I was a child. Ever since I had walked out unburnt it had seemed it was my destiny to repeat his conquest. Like him I had three dragons and the drive to rule.

But now...there had been so many losses. I liked to blame anyone else but myself as that made it easier for me to sleep. It allowed me to think of myself as the queen that was destined for greatness. It allowed me to think of myself as having no flaws, no matter what the truth was. It allowed me a sense of peace. A sense of clarity in these hard times.

I was in the Chamber of the Painted Table to calm my mind. Everything looked more peaceful here. On this table the losses didn't have the same effect on me. The losses of House Greyjoy and Dorne was less damaging here. The losses still made an impact but it didn't have the same feeling. Here I could pretend that my story had already been told and that it had been a great victory.

The night was chilly and I wondered if that was winter. Winter was here in Westeros and soon enough the ground would be covered in snow. I wanted to get the Iron Throne before that happened. All my life I had lived in such warm environments that the thought of cold frightened me. At least I didn't have to worry about Jon Snow for the moment. I had taken Tyrion's advice and allowed the bastard to mine for dragonglass. A bastard who was much better looking than he had any right to be.

"Daenerys, you seem to be up a little late." Tyrion said as he walked in.

"I'm planning." I replied. "I am not going to lose again."

"Your plan involves using Drogon and the Dothraki to take out part of the Lannister army. Excuse me if I don't think you need to do any serious planning tonight."
