Chapter 17

And of course the lizard tail comes off with no problem. It's really common knowledge that a lizard regrows its tail. This is done because the tail will act like it's alive which allows the lizard to escape while the predator is distracted.

Chapter 5

Marco starts the chapter by both telling us what's going on and showing us his caring side. He points out that if they're down at the beach then Controllers will be there too. I love that he cares about his fellow Animorphs and tries to make sure that they succeed even if he doesn't really want to fight.

Well here is the first stop on my journey of re-discovery. I am starting with The Andalite Chronicles since the list I am using lists this first. #1 The Invasion was the first Animorphs book published, but the majority of The Andalite Chronicles takes place before that. This book follows the history of Prince Elfangor (full name Prince Elfangor-Sirinial-Shamtul) who was the Andalite who gave the Animorphs the ability to morph.

This chapter is narrated by Cassie.

In a series of doom and gloom. Of brother against brother. Of good and evil being a myth. In this series this chapter starts off with Marco complaining about ugly people being on the beach. It's a very light-hearted way to start the chapter with the previous chapter being full of Tobias not feeling good enough.

Rachel chimes in that if ugly people can't go to the beach, Marco can't. Oh god, I love you two!

Tobias starts the chapter telling the others, minus Rachel and Ax, that he hadn't seen any signs of Rachel. He also repeats that he hadn't seen signs of Ax either. I can't imagine the guilt he's going through right now.

The chapter begins with Marco saying the newscast is lying as that thing wasn't a tornado. Yes, I'm sure the Yeerks would totally let a little dust monster story get out. But I get where Marco is coming from, he's annoyed more than shocked.

Marco begins the chapter by saying that he admits that sneaking into the party wasn't the right thing to do, but justifies it by stating you (the reader) need to know what Darlene said about him. He then says how Ax and him morphed the mouse.

And the recap for this book starts. Again, I like this happening every book so that a new reader can easily jump in at any point in the series.

Any one can be a Controller? I know a few people I wish were aliens so that their idiocy would have an excuse.

Chapter 21

Rachel is finally able to realize that what she thought were humans were really Hork-Bajir. But she was in a position where she couldn't turn back. Fighting with one Hork-Bajir leads to her getting a second cut and then the battle becomes fuzzy for her.

Chapter 17

Rachel does not wait until she finishes her morph to run at Visser Three. Rachel easily brings down the Andalite Controller and swings her fully human hand into a tree trunk. Yep, the Ellimist waited for that moment to bring them back to their own time.

 Chapter 13

Rachel wakes up the morning after the battle and is all groggy. Her sister, Jordan, mentions that she doesn't look well and is wearing the same clothing as the ones she came home in the night before. Then her mother asks her if there is anything bad going on.

This, again, highlights a main problem that the Animorphs suffer: they have no one outside their little group to turn to. They can't go to their parents or authority figures for help, as those people might be Controllers.

 As they go down into the Yeerk pool Rachel points out that the ramp is different. Plus roach bodies experience gravity differently. Hell, they can climb on walls.

Rachel comes back home around dinner time and asks what she'll be eating that night. While she asks that she thinks about how fear makes her hungry. She is thinking about what horrors she'll be encountering again once she and the others go back into the Yeerk pool.

Rachel notices something odd with her mother.
