My trip into the Dune Universe, started by the late Frank Herbert, started when I watched Dune (1984) in my childhood. That movie isn't accurate to the source material, but it's a beloved film of mine and I was more than happy to get it on blu-ray.
Frank Herbert wrote the original Dune books and then died before completing them. After his passing, his son and another writer, Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson respectfully, wrote some prequels before completing the original Dune series.
I will be getting back to the Dune prequels later, finishing up a Stephen King novel at the time of starting this post, and found myself shipping Xavier Harkonnen and Vorian "Vor" Atreides. I decided that I should share my love of this ship with you.
Enjoy.

Dune: The Battle of Corrin (Book Review)
In this book the final battle against Omnius happens and the AI is replaced by a more horrific villain. Also I continue to adore Erasmus.

Dune: The Machine Crusade (Book Review) [Patreon Exclusive]
There is a lot to unpack in Dune: The Machine Crusade and not enough
time to cover everything. So I focus on what I deem some of the most
important parts of the book.

Upcoming Review: Dune: The Machine Crusade (Patreon Exclusive)
More than two decades have passed since the events chronicled in The Butlerian Jihad.
The crusade against thinking robots has ground on for years, but the
forces led by Serena Butler and Iblis Ginjo have made only slight gains;
the human worlds grow weary of war, of the bloody, inconclusive swing
from victory to defeat.
The fearsome cymeks, led by Agamemnon, hatch new plots to regain their lost power from Omnius--as their numbers dwindle and time begins to run out. The fighters of Ginaz, led by Jool Noret, forge themselves into an elite warrior class, a weapon against the machine-dominated worlds. Aurelius Venport and Norma Cenva are on the verge of the most important discovery in human history-a way to "fold" space and travel instantaneously to any place in the galaxy.
And on the faraway, nearly worthless planet of Arrakis, Selim Wormrider and his band of outlaws take the first steps to making themselves the feared fighters who will change the course of history: the Fremen.
Here is the unrivaled imaginative power that has put Brian Herbert and Kevin Anderson on bestseller lists everywhere and earned them the high regard of readers around the globe. The fantastic saga of Dune continues in Dune: The Machine Crusade.

Dune: The Butlerian Jihad (Book Review) [Patreon Exclusive]
I begin my Dune review series by starting in chronological order. It
sucks that the prequels aren't more popular as Erasmus is one of my
favorite robots in fiction.

Upcoming Review: Dune: The Butlerian Jihad (Patreon Exclusive)
Throughout the Dune novels, Frank Herbert frequently referred to the
long-ago war in which humans wrested their freedom from "thinking
machines." Now, in Dune: Butlerian Jihad, Brian Herbert and Kevin J.
Anderson bring to life the story of that war, a tale previously seen
only in tantalizing hints and clues. Finally, we see how Serena Butler's
passionate grief ignites the war that will liberate humans from their
machine masters. We learn the circumstances of the betrayal that made
mortal enemies of House Atreides and House Harkonnen; and we experience
the Battle of Corrin that created a galactic empire that lasted until
the reign of Emperor Shaddam IV.
