Talking With Janette Lart

What was the inspiration for writing Among Petals and Thorns?

It's a romance in which flowers are the undisputed protagonists, bearers of unspoken words, of feelings that need to be revealed, stories that need to be told. To give a symbolic value to the flowers is Maria, a florist, from which all the customers go in search of messages to be delivered to their family, friends, lovers, acquaintances. Flowers thus become vehicles of emotions, feelings and meanings that would otherwise remain closed inside, within some shadowy area of the soul of the protagonists.

What was the writing process like for Among Petals and Thorns?

My starting point is always a general idea, with some characters and a literary genre. The story development will be processed little by little. It is important to follow the creative moment without interruption for detailed adjustments. This work was entered in a Literary Competition, so it had to respect some rules such as length and a romantic plot.
