The Rape Preparation Scene in Fifty Shades Freed

I am not a fan of this trilogy. It's bad fanfiction getting published and now made into a movie when there are other fanfictions that are more deserving of this kind of treatment. Not only some of the stuff I write, but other fics written by equally and more talented writers.

I also feel this trilogy should've been marketed as a rape/dubcon trilogy so people wouldn't think that having their own Christian Grey is a good thing for a healthy relationship.

In this post I am going to look at one scene in the final Fifty Shades book that was just...it deserves more than a simple tweet or two to explain my feelings on it.

New Designs September 2014

I have recently gotten back from my trip to California and have added some new designs to my CafePress shop! For those unaware: proceeds from that shop go to help support me and this lovely blog. If I ever get to earning enough I could pay my co-hosts Omar (Jash Talks), Rista (Zone 91), and Kheetor (With Extra Happy).

I'd really like to pay Kheetor just because of all she's done for With Extra Happy (including making an audio version of the podcast as well as a Twitter account).

So what are the new designs this time around?

10 Year Anniversay (Subeta Event Review)

This is the first event I'm reviewing in a very long time and I have changed my style. Hopefully these Subeta event reviews go over well and evolve into something actually good. I won't be able to review everything as...well...I won't always be able to be online when an event is in session, sadly.

For this event I was on for a good majority of the days, but it was only on the last few days that I couldn't be online due to me traveling to California (and as I'm starting to write this review I'm still there and on the comp for the first and likely last time for the vacation). But I've read up on the news.

Jash's Writing Tips: Basic Steps of Writing

This little series has been in my mind for awhile. I have actually started something similar in the past but it didn't go anywhere for very long. This is an attempt to restart it. Hopefully it actually goes somewhere for more than one or two posts this time.

Anyways, this series is me giving you writing advice and you maybe listening. My qualifications for doing so is that I write and have been doing so for a very long time. Also, I have a Bachelor of Arts in English with a Specialization in Creative Writing.

Sadly, some things I won't be able to talk about as in depth as others. Such as Points of View...I only do First Person POV so I can't give much advice on any of the Third Person POVs or the very rare Second Person POV.

I'll start this series off by going over three main stages of writing and how to get through them. If you have any difference of opinion please leave a comment and I might even respond to your comment in another part of this series.

Terminator Genisys Should be Rated R

Some movie franchises need to be rated a certain way in order for their story to be adequately told. While I am doubting how well the Terminator reboot can be (one problem is it erases the first two movies right off the bat making hardcore fans less likely to see it), I think an R rating can help please doubtful fans AND allow a better Terminator feel for the overall movie.

The Normal Heart and the 2014 Emmys

Since Hannibal got completely snubbed for this year's Emmys, I was cheering on The Normal Heart which is my pick for best movie of 2014 (this is the only movie on the list that I'm certain will not change its rank by the end of the year). I was really hoping Mark Ruffalo would get a win for his outstanding performance as Ned Weeks.

If Ruffalo failed in his role of Ned then the movie wouldn't have had much of an impact as he was the central character and you were meant to connect with him.

So how did the Emmys treat The Normal Heart this year?
