Alan Wake 2 (Part 21)

After failing to track down Mr. Door, I decide to see a movie.

I go back to Solitude for...non-vampire reasons.

I...um...get all the golden walnuts...

I finally return for my unicorn.

I see a movie with Robin.

The Leftovers is a weird show. Stuff happens that makes you just scratch your head. It's also a show that is a little hard to get into but well worth the effort. Today's post will focus on the character of Matthew Jamison.

After the episode "It's a Matt, Matt, Matt, Matt World", I wanted to dive into Matt's character. Specifically Matt's belief in God.

Skyrim (Part 449)

I get a cool sword.

It's corn's time to shine!

I try to up my Illusion.

I get Shane's portrait.

Meeko is such a good boy.

I got all the ginger!

I get chased by mammoths.

I continue to gather the ginger.

We respect Sithis in this house.

I go to the Desert Festival.

Bran disappears.

I get more ginger.

We play video games for a variety of reasons. One popular reason is to feel like a hero. In our ordinary lives there isn't a lot of room to be a hero. In The Elder Scrolls V:Skyrim, though, you can help save the world from a world ending dragon. In Alan Wake 1 and 2 you can help slow down an eldritch horror from gaining its full power.

And who can blame people for wanting to feel loved and knowing they have a big impact on the world around them?

No one.

However, there are games that lure players into a false sense of security by the fact we tend to be the hero of the story. Then they turn around and painfully prove how wrong we were.

Mouthwashing and Spec Ops: The Line are two such cases.

Jash Reads: That Part (Chapter 9)

Serena and Odahviing debate Jash's fate.

I return a woman home safely.

Tobias struggles with being on the ground.

I don't get lost and end up visiting an old werewolf friend.

I get more golden walnuts.

I slaughter some vampires.

I aim to kill vampires but the game refuses to save.

Subspecies

Scourge growing up outside the continent left scars that can never heal. Even though she now has multiple mates (Alexander, Jorah, Daenerys, and Jon) and a son (Jeor), there is a wildness in her that will not fade away in time.

Scourge had thought that her untamed nature stopped with her. Yet sometimes that bloodlust seeps into her hatchlings. At least her scion will be raised with other dragons and hopefully they will be more adjusted than their mother.

Shipping Confessions: Vorian Atredies/Xavier Harkonnen (Dune)[Reposted]

My trip into the Dune Universe, started by the late Frank Herbert, started when I watched Dune (1984) in my childhood. That movie isn't accurate to the source material, but it's a beloved film of mine and I was more than happy to get it on blu-ray.

Frank Herbert wrote the original Dune books and then died before completing them. After his passing, his son and another writer, Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson respectfully, wrote some prequels before completing the original Dune series.

I will be getting back to the Dune prequels later, finishing up a Stephen King novel at the time of starting this post, and found myself shipping Xavier Harkonnen and Vorian "Vor" Atreides. I decided that I should share my love of this ship with you.

Jon was originally part of the Arcane Flight as he loved learning. One of his favorite things to do was to observe the night sky as it meant a rare moment of relaxation. Even after leaving his former Flight behind, he still likes looking at the stars during a cloudless night.

When some of his offspring hatched with wings in the same vein as the night sky, he was overjoyed to be able to share his favorite pastime with other dragons. Now, even if they were far from the surface, dragons could relax to images of the night sky.
