S&N: The Change 2

I looked at Samara and grinned wildly at her and then focused on the outpost. There was one main building in the forest and vehicles parked around it. M-2s were walking around. These M-2s looked like humans but skin and bones were replaced with metal. I thought they looked a little like Terminators but somehow they were even more unsettling.

"Damn they look creepy." I told Samara.

"Yes, Machines without even human skin covering." She replied. "But the M-3s are supposed to change that."

"I thought that the M-3s were just rumors."

"Let's hope so." Samara said and raised her gun. I raised mine and nodded at her.

We ran as a team and soon drew attention of the M-2s. I got to fire the first shot in this 'battle' and shouted in glee as I took aim at another M-2. After what seemed like hours, Samara and I were no closer to winning than we had been in the beginning.

Of course, winning wasn't the whole point of this. If it had been, there would probably be a few teams put together or at least more than two people. The point of this mission was to cause chaos in The Net. It didn't make this mission any easier, though. I dodged a bullet as it grazed my hair and then returned fire.

I saw that Samara was running into some trouble of her own and so I tried to help as best I could. This became harder after a few seconds and I was forced to focus on fighting the M-2s on my own again.

"First one back to the car gets to be on top!" I yelled and made sure that Samara was by me. But she wasn't. "Samara! Samara! Shit."

I started firing wildly to give me time to find her. An M-2 swung its arm at me and I dodged its swing. A few seconds later a human shot at me. I shot at the man's kneecap and he went down. I didn't like to kill if I didn't have to. I wasn't a Machine.

Running around the 'battlefield' I ran by an SUV and it exploded because it had been shot at, possibly by an M-2. I was sent flying through the air as sound and metal followed me. I yelled out as I landed and a piece of metal stabbed me through the heart.

The pain didn't start out great and I hardly felt any pain. What I did feel was blood pouring out of me. The sounds of fighting didn't seem that important to me because I was somewhere else. I was somewhere that defied pain and fear.

I smiled at the sounds and could faintly tell that Samara was still fighting. "Samara!" I yelled out and waved. Whether she saw me or not wasn't something I was thinking about at the moment.

Space Shuttle Launch and Traffic

The NFL Draft is tonight but I don't know much about football. So anything I'd have to say on that subject would be total bullshit.

However, the Space Shuttle launch is tomorrow. I live in Florida so this is a big deal (besides me being a total nerd). Mind you I don't live by Kennedy Space Center but I will be driving to that area tomorrow.

I will not be driving to see the Space Shuttle launch, however I will be driving to see my boyfriend for dinner. So there is one problem that will probably pop up: the traffic.

Now Space Shuttle launches are great things, but there are some people that won't be going to them and will still be in the area. That is where the traffic becomes a big problem. People who are going to the launch should expect lots of traffic but some people won't be going to that event. Hell, some people will probably not care about it (poor non-nerds).

So, for those people, traffic will be a problem that will just ruin their day. Hopefully, though, Dad (who is the one who will be driving and setting up the driving plan) will find a safe way that will avoid most of the traffic.

Conversations

Conversations I am yelling now
Pouring my heart out to you
Telling you the problems I have
Telling you things you don't want to hear
But I'll never tell you them
You wouldn't hear one word
You'd just hear that you're wrong
And then say that I'm wrong
So I'll just yell at the walls
Because at least they'll pretend to care

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Trailer

This trailer looks awesome and looks like it's going to give the Battle of Hogwarts all that it deserves. Action, action, and more action! There were a few bits of the trailer that weren't from the book but they made the trailer look even more cool.

I've read all the Harry Potter books more than once, so I am highly biased about this trailer. I know how it ends so the enticement of seeing how it ends isn't affecting me at all.

But, surprisingly, I am now more pumped up than ever to see this movie. So this trailer managed to make me want to see this movie right now when I've already read the final book in the series four to five times so far. This trailer sure as Hell did something right.

Carbonite: Phone Case Paying Homage to Star Wars

Yes, you are seeing that picture correctly. No need to adjust your screen or to try and refresh this page. That is an Iphone cover in which Steve Jobs is frozen in Carbonite just like Han Solo!

This looks cool to me but I would never get it since I don't have an Iphone. Plus, I'm not a huge Star Wars fangirl anymore so I wouldn't buy it just to collect it.

If you're wondering who made it: Someone at the site Society6 did.
If you're wondering how much it costs: $35 USD

So do you feel angered at this or are you laughing at it like me?

The Green: Captured 1

I started realizing I was breathing heavy and looked at Thomas' dead body. I had killed him and was glad that he wouldn't attack me ever again. Then something hit me all of a sudden and made me realize what an idiot I had been. I hadn't just stopped Thomas: I had stopped him from doing anything else. Maybe if I had just knocked him out he would have gotten better.

Fear overtook me once again and my feet made me stand up. After that they decided to make me run. It was like I was in a drunken stupor. A police siren was picked up by my very attentive ears and I ran in the opposite direction on the road.

The sound of the police siren kept on getting closer and closer to me no matter how fast I ran. The man in the shed must've called the police to inform them of a murder. The murder that I had done.

The car finally got close enough and I still attempted to outrun it. I heard people open the door and I ran under the pressure of exhaustion. I ran for a few seconds before one of the police officers tackled me. I fought with the officer but he easily handcuffed and put me in the backseat of the police car.

After they put me inside the car, they went back to where I had come from. A few minutes later and they were back. The man went in the driver's seat and the woman went in the passenger seat.

They must've not feared me that much to send in only two officers. But that would also mean that it would be likely that I would have escaped when they came.

"Officers," I said. "Thomas Savan was attacking me. I was only defending myself."

"By bashing his brains out?" The female officer asked. "You could have just knocked him out."

"But he would have kept attacking me."

"It still wasn't your decision to make to take his life."

"I'll do better next time." I pleaded to her. When I saw her bow her head I thought I was making some head way with her. "I won't kill next time."

"Sorry, we can't take the chance." The male police officer said.

The ride to the Nuscon Police Station was long to me. I was fearing what they would do to me. The scientists would sometimes talk about the Death Sentence and the best ways to kill a man quickly. They would probably kill me since there was an eyewitness account of me killing Thomas.

I sighed and watched the town of Nuscon, Arizona go by outside the car. There were happy people going by. I had learned that the state I was in was Arizona but was still unaware what state the laboratory was in.

The female police officer walked beside me while the male police officer walked behind me. As I walked inside the station I realized that my final resting place might be Death Row.

Smallpox: Gone Forever or Here to Stay?

This is an issue that has come up recently:
The WHO (not the band, the World Health Organization) is going over whether or not to destroy smallpox for good.

While this issue might sound simple, it really isn't.

On one hand smallpox is a disease that no good has come from. Lately it has been beaten and so destroying it would be one small step for man and one giant leap of health for mankind. Come on, is there really any argument for a disease that threatens people to exist?

Why, actually, yes.

For now science has beaten back smallpox so there seems to be no worry about it. But what if it comes back? If people's immune systems aren't prepared for smallpox they will die. Should we really allow people to be put in such a predicament?

Myself, either option sounds bad and I'm glad I'm not the one that has to make this decision.

What was your favorite thing to do during recess at school?

Bruce Springsteen and TSCC

I am a big Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (TSCC) and Terminator fan in general. That being said, some of the episodes of TSCC are named after Bruce Springsteen songs.

Samson and Delilah (Season 2) is named after one and one of the actresses in the show (Shirley Manson who plays Catherine Weaver) sings a new version of it.

Adam Raised a Cain (Season 2) is named after one of my favorites. I actually checked out the song when I heard it was a song. I would highly recommend you check out the song.

Born to Run (Season 2) is named after one of his most famous songs. This is probably the only song off the list that you recognize.

I might have forgotten some but these are the ones that stood out.

Oh, yeah, you were probably expecting an Earth Day article since it is Earth Day. Well, Judgment Day didn't happen yesterday and I am sad because of it.

Sushi, Sake, and Tanuki: Another Viewpoint 1

I lifted my head from the water and Sajoki pulled me under. Blood flew out from the wound in her chest that I had given her. A wound that I regretted giving her and was happy that I would die because I had given it to her. Suddenly I was flying through the stars and the vaporous form of a giant snake could be seen.

"Come home, my creation, I own you. You come when I call." The voice of Hijunaki told me and I tried to fly away. Shifting to different forms the realization that it was useless came to me. I cried out and my form meshed with Hijunaki. I woke up.

The Calling of Hijunaki was telling me to go to a certain place, but I didn't want to go. Why should I go? My love Sajoki was dead and I had killed her. But she had also wrenched my heart out of my chest and betrayed me to Tamui. I hadn't seen her betrayal coming and had been, instead, caught up in my love of her. I still was, partially. Why should I live and why should Hijunaki trust me? Spreading my wings, I thought of plummeting to the ground and ending it all here and now.

That would be useless, though. I had been spending months trying to kill myself and nothing had happened. Well, I would injure myself and wake up in relatively good condition. Killing an obake was hard to do, even for an obake. The first suicide I had attempted I had been too afraid of and stopped at the last moment.

As soon as the sun rose, I hunted. Being an eagle was fun and it felt so good to kill a rabbit. After eating I continued to be pulled towards Hijunaki. I flew to my right and suddenly was flying to my left. What was going on? Why couldn't Hijunaki just let me go to die?

But, no, he couldn't let me die because he had created me and so must feel like he owned me. I was my own person and he would learn that one day. Maybe not today, but someday. Shifting into a human I landed on the ground and let the rain wash over me.

The rain hid my tears and I realized I couldn't stay running forever from my emotions and Hijunaki's Calling. But I could go to Hijunaki later and just stay here for awhile longer. A few hours later I felt the Calling of Hijunaki even louder than before.

As the last raindrop fell I sighed. If I wanted peace I'd have to go to Hijunaki now to get rid of the pounding in my head. Shifting into a raven my mind became fully focused on Hijunaki's Calling. Hours went by and I did not feel anything but joy at getting closer.

After two days of flying, I landed by Hijunaki. He looked down at me, annoyed. Blackness enveloped me as exhaustion caught up to me.

Tiger Mom and the Real World

Childhood being carefree is a relatively new thing. However, I do agree that everyone needs the chance to have some years dedicated to living without care and enjoying the world in innocent bliss. But that is not the thought of Tiger Moms.

Amy Chau popularized the term and it means a Mom that pushes her child to be the best academically. These Moms are very strict and don't really allow their children a childhood in the modern sense of the word.

I do believe children need to be educated, but there are some things more important than school. School/College/Grad School/ect. will only last for a certain amount of time and then you'll need to go out in the real world.

There is a vast difference between what you learn in school and what you see in the real world. I can tell you that you won't impress a date by saying how much education you have. No, you need people skills. You need to know how to communicate and not just to a roomful of professors.

So teach your kids to be good in school but allow them a childhood that's carefree and will allow them to connect to the rest of the world.

420: Celebrating Pot

420 means pot and tomorrow is Marijuana Day. So I figured that I'd talk about pot aka Mary Jane aka Marijuana.

Now I don't smoke pot at all, but I don't mind those who do. I've seen some people who smoke pot and they are very well adjusted. In fact, they can hold jobs and have relationships. This idea that Marijuana somehow is the cause for people being stupid is just wrong.

I find it funny, though, that people consider celebrating pot. I could understand if they were celebrating the legalization of the drug, but that hasn't happened yet. I am not going to stop them from celebrating because they aren't harming anyone and are just having a good time.

Finally, I don't think the Marijuana should be illegal and am surprised it hasn't been legalized yet. Actually not really surprised because some companies would see their business drop if pot was legalized.

Have a Happy Marijuana Day tomorrow, my readers!

S&N: The Change 1

I opened my eyes and saw that Samara's arms were still around me. She was the only one I would fully trust to be by my side in this war against The Net and its Machines. Getting up slowly I looked out the window and saw that the end hadn't happened yet and the birds were singing a merry tune.

I started to hum a pop song and decided to go downstairs to make breakfast for us. Karma, the secret organization against The Net, had teamed me up with Samara and we had quickly become lovers. Something about being comrades was the reason I had found for becoming so close. Seeing my Mickey Mouse waffle maker I decided I'd use it.

"You're using that piece of crap again, Naz." Samara said and I smiled. My full name is Nazilla but most people consider that a mouthful.

"Yes, your girlfriend is being young again." I said and cooked us some waffles.

She sat at the table when I had both of our waffles ready. "You know if an Elemental came here they would reconsider you being part of Karma." She said and took a bite.

"Yeah, the highest people in Karma would really visit here. Earth, Water, Wind, and Fire would all come here." I replied. "Why don't you try and find a Machine with a soul?"

"If I do that the war might be over very soon." She said and we both nodded.

After we finished eating we got out maps and plans. We spent over an hour figuring things out.

"So what is this death wish about?" I asked.

"We're attacking a small The Net outpost. It isn't too big, but sources say it's part of a new testing facility for The Net." Samara said.

"Yeah, but why us?" I asked. "I know at least one other team that's closer to that location than us."

"The other team is probably doing something more important and I think they've had a kid."

Nodding I looked at the map. "Maybe after this is all over we can adopt."

Samara smiled and we kissed. After that touching moment I got ready quickly. The elation I felt from her made me know I could fight anything when she was around. The Net would go down and then we would be together until we died of natural causes. Dying of natural causes was something anyone in Karma wanted.

"So who's driving?" I asked.

"Me." Samara said.

"Come on, with a few drinks I'm sure you'll sober up to the idea of me driving."

"You buy after the fight."

"You're on." I smiled and got into passenger side of the car. "Netty and its Machines are going down!"

Statue of Liberty Stamp

Now there are messups by people like me who don't really have an important job. Don't get me wrong, informing people about movies and entertaining with my stories are things I enjoy doing. However, if I get something wrong, people wouldn't be surprised. And, by people, I mean the majority of people.

A US Stamp was recently released of the Statue of Liberty. Now this wouldn't be making the news (nor would I be talking about it) if it was of the actual Statue of Liberty and not a replica.

Yes, people whose job it is to check those mistakes missed it. When I fact check, I look at imDB or Wikipedia (and sometimes do a long Google search like I did for my The Terminators review). But, I assume, these people are supposed to do lot longer for fact checking.

So, to anyone whose job is highly dependent on fact checking: Do your job well because not all people are idiots.

The Title Cowboys and Aliens

Sometimes movie titles are boring (The Town), sometimes they are interesting (Angels and Demons), and sometimes they are funny: Cowboys and Aliens.

I have never played the game Cowboys and Indians, but I am aware of it and so like the title Cowboys and Aliens for a few reasons.

1.) It's a good play on words.
It lets you get a nostalgic feeling while giving a sense of adventure.

2.) It mentions aliens.
I love science fiction and so, with a promise of aliens, I am ready to see this baby.

Mind you, I am not seeing this movie because of the title (though it does play some part in the decision), but because it contains two actors that I like. They are, of course:
Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford.

Note: I also know it's based on a comic.

Machinima and Mortal Kombat

All I have to say is: Holy shit is Mortal Kombat: Legacy awesome! A lot of action and action and more action. But this isn't a review of the series (might do that after it's all completed) it's a look at Machinima.

Now Mortal Kombat: Legacy was released on Machinima.com today. It is, of course, a Mortal Kombat series on the web. Mortal Kombat is a video game series (for those of you that have been living under a rock the last couple of years) and it would be cheap and easy to do a series made up of graphics from the Mortal Kombat games (which is what Machinima is) so why did they choose to do live action instead?

I don't know why the decision was made but I do know it wouldn't have looked as good if it had been. Machinima is usually done as comedy because that's how it works best. Video game graphics are good in video games, but when you do film with them they look funny.

While Mortal Kombat: Legacy isn't a serious web serie,s the action looks better as live action (at least in the first episode). People look like people and tiny things in a person's movement look more believable.

If you haven't watched it yet go HERE to watch Episode 1 of Mortal Kombat: Legacy.

Megamind (2010)

This is one movie where the trailer (at least the one or two I saw) lied about the movie.

Title: Megamind

Director: Tom McGrath

Starring: Will Ferrell, Jonah Hill, and Brad Pitt

Rated: PG

Released: 2010

Rating: 3.5/5

Basic Plot: Megamind defeats Metro Man and has to decide what to do now.

Watchmen
I saw the reference to the comic book Watchmen (by Alan Moore) and thought I had imagined it. Hal is wearing a sad face which is like the smiley face The Comedian wore in the comic. I double checked this fact on imdb to make certain.

Original Trailer
The original trailer made it seem like Megamind was going to be about Megamind and Metro Man duking it out. In fact, the original trailer I saw didn't even hint that the real villain was going to be Hal.

If the Villain Won
This movie deals with what would happen if the villain won. Megamind thinks he has defeated Metro Man and suddenly he starts falling apart. The problem is that Megamind's whole life has been about defeating Metro Man and now he has no one to fight. This is what causes the whole problem of Hal becoming evil and ending up with super powers.

The Misunderstanding
Megamind and Roxanne start a relationship, have a misunderstanding, break up, and get back together. There was a little tension but I was pretty sure that they would end up together. And, lo and behold, they did. It's an overused cliche but it worked a little in this movie.

Final Thoughts
This was a very fun comedy to sit through. It was light hearted, got dark, and had some funny bits. With the PG rating it's aimed at kids but it was enjoyable for me (and I'm an adult). I would recommend seeing this movie with friends on a night that not much is going on.

Source Code (2011)

What I like in a movie is one that will make me think or at least make me view things in a different light. While this movie isn't one that'll you'll have to dig too deeply to find the message, it is one that might go over some people's heads.

Title: Source Code

Director: Duncan Jones

Starring: Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan, and Vera Farmiga

Rated: PG-13

Released: 2011

Rating: 5/5

Basic Plot: Colter Stevens wakes up in the body of another person and gets a mission to discover the identity of the person who bombed a train.

The Source Code
The Source Code (where the title of the movie comes from) is actually pretty simple to explain. You have to be near dead and then your mind is placed in another body in a parallel universe. During the majority of the movie it is thought that you can't affect anything outside the Source Code (they think it's a program and don't know that it creates parallel universes). This is explained in sci-fi lingo that was music to my ears.

Romance
The romance was nice but not needed. Plus, it's sort of creepy that Colter is taking up a romance with another man's woman. Also, what happens if Colter realizes he doesn't love her and breaks up. Of course if Colter didn't have the romance to push himself his mind would've been wiped at the end.

Programmers are Evil People
The programmers in this movie don't care about Colter and so they come off as evil. Especially the head guy who doesn't want to allow Colter's request of dying. Colter was nearly dead and the reveal of his actual body might make some people feel nauseous.

Final Thoughts
This movie is awesome! I left the theater feeling fulfilled and happy. However, this movie is not for everyone. This is because the concept of the Source Code might go over some people's head, confuse them, and not make them have a good time. But I would stress for you to see this movie if you think that you can cope with it.

The Green: First Attack 4

Thomas' posture grew more rigid and his breathing grew heavier. I checked the surroundings and realized I couldn't find my way back to the car if my life depended on it. The thought that Thomas was lost also crossed my mind.

"Thomas, are you sure you know where we're going?" I asked.

"Of course I know where we're going." Thomas said and turned to look at me. "Besides, what would you know? You're a loser and can't do anything. Do you know how embarrassing it is for me to cook in front of people? I bet you go out and tell all the people you meet that I cook."

As he continued, I realized that the look in his eyes seemed to grow less and less human. After a few seconds, the last bits of humanity seemed to have left his eyes.

"Dad!" He shouted and ran at me. I was punched down to the ground, rolled over, and dodged a kick from him.

"Thomas, it's me! Matthias!" I shouted, but Thomas seemed to be someone else now. After minutes of running around and dodging attacks, I realized that I'd have to knock Thomas out to escape.

Seeing a shed, I ran towards it. As soon as I went to go towards it, Thomas caught up to me and kicked me down. "Arg." I huffed. As soon as Thomas went to kick me again I caught his leg and made him fall. When he went down he attempted to bite me.

I didn't have much respect for Thomas, but I didn't think he'd ever bite me in anger. He had seemed a little more reserved than that. I managed to move his mouth away from me but he finally got his teeth into me.

I yelled and then punched his face hard enough to make blood come out of his mouth. Whether it was his own blood or my own, I didn't know. Twisting and punching, I managed to get out of his grasp and started running to the shed again. A man came out of the shed and looked at me.

Thomas attempted to punch me and I blocked him. I became lost in the moment and my attacks started to become stronger and stronger. As Thomas yelled Dad, I let out my own yells. An idea of killing him came to me. It would be the only way to stop him forever and he didn't seem to want to talk.

"Bye." I said and aimed to kill Thomas. I picked up a rock and let him punch me once so I could aim for his head. I grew dizzy after the punch, but still managed to hit his head once. His expression grew dizzy and, for a moment, I thought he'd punch me again. Not letting another second pass, I hit him again and he fell to the ground.

Even after he fell down, I kept hitting him with the rock to make sure he was dead and would never attack me again. After brains and blood came out of his head, I decided to stop. I was relieved that the attack was over.

I turned to look at the shed. The man looked shocked and ran back inside. Well, at least Thomas wouldn't attack me again. Though I would miss having a house to stay in.

What would you do if you won the lottery?

I'd save up the money. If I spent it all at once I'd have none left very soon.

Sushi, Sake, and Tanuki: Enslaved 5

A deep seething hate continued coming into my blood. It started to make me burn from the inside out and I looked at the two humans. Tamui who owned me and Sajoki who owned my heart. I hated Sajoki. I hated the human woman with a hate that I didn't think was possible.

Suddenly a fear came to me that Tamui would take revenge upon me for sleeping with his woman. Maybe if I waited the fear would be revealed to be unfounded. But what I felt for those two made me react in a way I hadn't before. Nor did I think I would ever react so before I felt this way.

As Tamui waited for my answer, I turned both of my arms into blades. They were bone but were nonetheless very deadly. Tamui didn't even have a blink of an eye to wait before my right arm connected with his neck. The cut started with a small stream of blood going outwards until his head came off and the stream became heavier and went downwards. I felt my bonds from him being broken and I realized that I was finally free.

Sajoki let go of him and then she turned to look me in the eyes. In her eyes I thought I read a hint of sorrow for what she had done. Of course the truth of the matter was that she was only frightened of death. And, with me being free, I was free to kill her.

My left arm connected with the bosom that once brought me joy and the heart that I thought was mine. I kept my arm in her and she collapsed. After what seemed like millennia, the life in her eyes left and the only sound from her was the blood leaving her body.

I looked at her dead eyes and the impact of what I did finally caught up to me. Removing my arm from her, and changing my arms back into human arms and hands, I finally realized my love was dead. The anger was draining from me and I felt fear. What if someone discovered that I had murdered Sajoki?

I ran outside of the tent and shifted into a crow and took off. I circled around the camp for awhile and saw people going toward the tent that Sajoki and Tamui had died in. I flew away from the camp and traveled for hours trying to get away from the image of Sajoki's dead body and the memory of the extreme anger I had felt.

I couldn't take it any longer and landed on the shore of a lake. I then shifted into a human and looked at myself in the lake's water. My reflection showed a broken heart and eyes that were finally opened. I also saw Sajoki in only her skin next to me. I quickly turned and realized that I had only imagined her. She would never be next to me again. I forgave her for everything and asked for her to be brought back to life. After I did that tears flowed down my face. It became so great that I fell into the lake and my tears and the water became one.

Get Low (2009)

This is a big downer. I mean, wow. Some movies are sad but this one actually surprises you in how down it gets.

Title: Get Low

Director: Aaron Schneider

Starring: Robert Duvall, Bill Murray, and Sissy Spacek

Rated: PG-13

Released: 2009

Rating: 4.5/5

Basic Plot: Felix Bush decides to hold a funeral party before his death so he can tell everyone the secret that had made him become a hermit.

Meaning of the Title
The title, at first glance, makes zero sense. However it is explained in the movie. It means to get everything in order before you die. That's really what this movie is about. Felix Bush realizes he is getting old and decides to get everything in order.

Get Sad
I nearly cried at the end of this movie (I got all teary eyed) and was unprepared for it. For the majority of the film it seems to be a dark comedy and by the end it's full on tragedy. I mean what else can you call it when it's revealed Felix ended up causing a woman's death (long story).

Love
Felix is in love with Mary Lee whose death he caused. He loved her and he still does (even going so far as never taking up another relationship and becoming a hermit). The romance is handled past sweetly. You first see her in a picture and wonder who she is but know that she is very important. I don't fully agree with Felix's love of Mary Lee but it's a big part of his life. In fact, it's only after he admits what happened that he sees a ghost of her and dies with a smile on his face.

Good Acting
I have to say that the majority of acting in this film is top notch. Actors just don't say their lines well but their faces also react fully to the emotions that they're portraying. I liked Lucas Black because his expressions were usually very amusing. The only problems I found were Bill Murray (his facial expressions didn't match to the others in the film) and Bill Cobbs (he seemed capable of only two types of expression with his face).

Final Thoughts
This is a very good film to see. If you like movies that are good on the characters and not so much on the action, this is one you should check out. This is (from imdb): A movie spun out of equal parts folk tale, fable and real-life...

And the poster even boasts "A True Tall Tale". What that means is that it's based a little on fact but probably didn't happen as the movie states. It's a good movie nonetheless, though. But watch it with a tissue handy.

Would you rather watch a movie in the theater or at home?

I would like to watch one at home for the sole reason I can pause it and leave to go to the restroom. However, movie theaters have bigger screens.

When you're lost, are you more likely to ask for directions or find your way without help?

Depends where I'm lost. If it's in the neighborhood I keep walking. Usually I travel with other people but I would ask for directions if I was ever lost.

The A-Team (2010)

I have never watched the original The A-Team. However, this was one wild and fun ride to sit through.

Title: The A-Team

Director: Joe Carnahan

Starring: Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, and Sharlto Copley

Rated: PG-13

Released: 2010

Rating: 4/5

Basic Plot: The A-Team has been imprisoned for a crime they didn't commit and must prove their innocence.

Comedic Nature
This movie, to me, is a great blend of comedy and action. There are explosions and deaths, no worries there. But there is a light feel to most of the movie. Things happen that, in a more serious film, wouldn't happen. A shinning example of this is the A-Team flying a tank and landing it safely (well, sort of). That was a wow moment for me and did get a chuckle out of me.

Fear of Flying
I have a big fear of flying. I don't like heights or stairs, for that matter. It is with that mindset that I can understand BA. At least in that regard. In one part of the movie he is knocked out (with drugs) and another where he is fooled into flying (though not in a plane). While the fear is real, I could laugh at those scenes. Whether it was because I held the same fears or it was funny, I don't know.

BA's Spiritual Problems
This subplot annoyed me. It was stupid and I didn't like it. This movies comes and tells me that this badass of a character suddenly converts to a form of pacifism just because he was in jail for six months. No, I'm sorry, I don't buy that. It didn't rear its ugly head up too often and was finally resolved in the end (with him going back to his old ways).

Murdock is a Joy
Maybe it is my love for the WTF, but I love Murdock in this movie. He is basically a crazed doctor who is sometimes praised for his cooking. He is also a pilot. Murdock does show his strength at the end by being shot at in the head (though he is protected from the bullets). I would say that Murdock is my favorite character in the movie.

Final Thoughts
I would say that if you like comedy and action that you will enjoy this movie. The movie is full of interesting subplots that are mostly resolved and made me wish for more at the end of it. Liam Neeson is, of course, awesome as Hannibal. There are throwbacks to the original A-Team. Oh, and the 3D movie part is pure win.

The Green: First Attack 3

"Watch out!" Thomas yelled as I nearly went face first into a cactus. I stopped just in time and shook my head. It wouldn't have been the first time that I had run into a cactus today.

"Thanks." I said and looked around for any other objects. Thomas had decided that today would be a great day for me to explore. Unfortunately, he had decided to take me out where there was no one else. So if we got in trouble, no one could help us. But, then again, I should've expected something like that from Thomas.

Looking up I saw that the sun would set in a few hours. I shook my head, Thomas and I had been out in this unknown area nearly all day. Luckily, though, we had brought supplies. Unfortunately, they would run out soon.

"We should start heading home soon." Thomas said. "It'll probably take us around an hour or so to get back to our car."

"Are you ever going to tell me why we are out here?" I asked.
"Does everything need a reason?" Thomas replied and I sighed. Maybe I should have some beer so that Thomas would seem sane to me.

After a little bit, Thomas looked down at a small plant. I could see what type it was: algae. Looking at it I tried to think of why it was out here and what exactly it was.

"Do you know what this is?" Thomas asked.

"No." I replied.

"This will be fun." He said and scraped a little of it off the rock it had been on. He looked at it for a moment and then ate it. "No harm done."

"For now." I replied and thought about taking him to the ER if something should happen. It was remarkably stupid for him to put an unknown substance in his mouth. But I knew that even if I had known what he was going to do I couldn't have stopped him.

"Come on," He said. "Let's go back to the car and go home."

I followed behind Thomas so that if anything should happen I could react quickly. For the first ten minutes nothing happened and then Thomas' walk got slower and his breathing got heavy.

"Are you okay?" I asked him.

"Probably just a passing phase. Besides, we need to get to the car." He said and we continued on.

The Host Rant (Part 11)

This is in the same series as The Host but I started to change the title with this video to The Host Rant.
In this part of my The Host Rant I start to take a look at Melaine Stryder.
