A Christmas Affair (Mini-Review)

A Christmas Affair is a story by Mariyam Hasnain about Kaveri going on a trip and falling in love with her tour guide.

This story will take you less than an hour to read. Not just because it's short, but because you'll want the pain of it to be over. The only reason for the book to be this bad is either because it is poorly translated or the author needs to spend more time improving their writing abilities.

For starters some of the word choices are confusing which makes me think it is just very badly translated. At one or two points it seemed the author tried to use a common phrase but didn't fully comprehend what it meant.

The dialogue seems more than awkward at various points throughout. Almost like it has been sped up, which is generally how the loose plot of the book feels. I am not dismissing short books, but you need to be good at pacing to make them feel worthwhile.

I began reading this book because I felt like another short cheesy romance book. But between the lightning speed of the plot and the awkwardness of the writing, I couldn't form any opinions on either of the leads.

I would recommend this book for someone that likes romances.
