Fighting a war is hard. Fighting a war as a child soldier is even more difficult. Maybe Tobias was weak when the fighting got too much for him and he surrendered to Visser Three. Maybe Tobias was just being human when he did so. In any case, the son of Elfangor quickly finds himself at odds with his former friends. But he can't go back as he finds a cause more important than any he's known before.

This is an Animorphs fanfiction that changes what happens at the end of Animorphs #23 The Pretender. While I am doing the actual writing of the fic, members of my facebook group HERE WE STAND help with the decision process.
