History (Yeaflon)

The Yeaflon started off without a unifying society. There were different groups that tended not to interact unless they encountered different groups. Of utmost importance to each group was their own survival and not the survival of the entire species.

Once the Yeaflon united and became one group, they formed a unifying society. Since they were now one big group and earlier smaller groups had put the group over the individual, the Yeaflon society quickly reflected that. Also, because of their fluid sex where individual Yeaflon went was regulated. It might not seem like freedom to a human or Andalite, but it kept the Yeaflon safe. If an individual Yeaflon were to go outside where they were allowed to, only light reprimands would be had unless their movements made others switch sexes.

One day, for reasons unknown, the Yeaflon got what they called 'visions'. Because they identified the 'visions' as coming from a divine source, their society became a theocracy. Their whole lives ended up revolving around this Grand Creator whom they believed was sending them 'visions'.

Once every Yeaflon started getting 'visions', they were drawn to outer space. A big boom in developments of space travel were achieved. After a few misadventures with sex switching, that sometimes resulted in a Yeaflon becoming a Third Sex, the Yeaflon regulated who they would send out on certain missions. Missions where only one Yeaflon was needed were given mostly to Third Sexes as they can't switch sexes. Also Third Sexes went on missions where an extra Yeaflon or two was needed.

When Z-Space travel was achieved, the Yeaflon found out what their 'visions' really were. They were an innate ability in their species to sense changes in Z-Space.

The Yeaflon used to have a superiority complex as they believed themselves the chosen race of the Grand Creator. However, upon meeting the Andalites they became more humbled. This was due to the Andalites' sexism and disregard for the disabled. They realized that being the chosen race was about taking care of the galaxy and not ruling it. They decided that becoming neutral in all but the most serious of matters was the best way to go when dealing with galactic affairs.
