Soma: A Deeper Look [Reposted]

A day or two ago I started watching a Let's Play by markiplier of the game Soma. I don't tend to watch Let's Plays as it means me keeping up with new parts coming out or just needing a lot of time to watch the entire thing.

But I watched this one. I then got so invested in the story, so many twists and turns, that I ended up watching another Let's Play of the same game by TheRPGMinx. Even though I have finished watching the game last night, it is still with me.

It left me with questions, as well as disturbing images, and so I felt the great need to make a blog post about it. I woke up drafting the first chapter of a fic that would continue the story (I don't have the time to write it so that's probably not going to happen).

Before I continue, I must warn you that there will be major spoilers. So if you don't want to be spoiled you can go play the game or watch any of the two Let's Plays I linked to.

Which Eeveelution are You? (Quiz) [Reposted]

Eevee is the most diverse Pokemon in terms of how many evolutions it has. What makes it hard to get them all is that not every evolution (also called Eeveelution) is earned the same way. Umbreon you need to have its happiness be at a certain level and it needs to evolve at night. Espeon is the same thing but has to evolve during the day time. So which Eeveelution are you? Are you a fiery Flareon or an icy Glaceon? Or could you even just be Eevee?

Alan Wake was Thomas Zane

The Remedy Connected Universe (RCU) started with Alan Wake and has grown a lot since then. This means a lot of questions have been answered and those answers have given way to even more questions. On top of that the series has a lot of layers so there is always something new to be found.

One of the biggest and oldest questions that hasn't been answered is who/what Thomas Zane is. In the first game the answer seems to be simple: Thomas Zane was a poet that ended up getting involved with the Dark Presence and then went missing. He shows up in the first game as the Bright Presence.

But once you really start delving into Thomas Zane you find yourself in a hole that doesn't end. What once appeared like the truth is drowned in uncertainty. I hope that the question of his identity is never answered as going mad trying to figure him out is so fun.

Now that isn't to say I don't have my own theory I believe in completely after screaming into the void for way too long. Well...believe in it more so I can actually go to sleep at night more than anything else. And that theory is that Alan Wake is the reincarnation of Thomas Zane.
