Statue of Liberty Stamp

Now there are messups by people like me who don't really have an important job. Don't get me wrong, informing people about movies and entertaining with my stories are things I enjoy doing. However, if I get something wrong, people wouldn't be surprised. And, by people, I mean the majority of people.

A US Stamp was recently released of the Statue of Liberty. Now this wouldn't be making the news (nor would I be talking about it) if it was of the actual Statue of Liberty and not a replica.

Yes, people whose job it is to check those mistakes missed it. When I fact check, I look at imDB or Wikipedia (and sometimes do a long Google search like I did for my The Terminators review). But, I assume, these people are supposed to do lot longer for fact checking.

So, to anyone whose job is highly dependent on fact checking: Do your job well because not all people are idiots.

Extras (Part 2)

In this set of extras I show you a deleted scene, an alternate take, and bloopers!

The Title Cowboys and Aliens

Sometimes movie titles are boring (The Town), sometimes they are interesting (Angels and Demons), and sometimes they are funny: Cowboys and Aliens.

I have never played the game Cowboys and Indians, but I am aware of it and so like the title Cowboys and Aliens for a few reasons.

1.) It's a good play on words.
It lets you get a nostalgic feeling while giving a sense of adventure.

2.) It mentions aliens.
I love science fiction and so, with a promise of aliens, I am ready to see this baby.

Mind you, I am not seeing this movie because of the title (though it does play some part in the decision), but because it contains two actors that I like. They are, of course:
Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford.

Note: I also know it's based on a comic.

The Terminators (Part 4)

In this final part of my The Terminators (2009) review I look at my least favorite part of the movie and I rate it.

Machinima and Mortal Kombat

All I have to say is: Holy shit is Mortal Kombat: Legacy awesome! A lot of action and action and more action. But this isn't a review of the series (might do that after it's all completed) it's a look at Machinima.

Now Mortal Kombat: Legacy was released on Machinima.com today. It is, of course, a Mortal Kombat series on the web. Mortal Kombat is a video game series (for those of you that have been living under a rock the last couple of years) and it would be cheap and easy to do a series made up of graphics from the Mortal Kombat games (which is what Machinima is) so why did they choose to do live action instead?

I don't know why the decision was made but I do know it wouldn't have looked as good if it had been. Machinima is usually done as comedy because that's how it works best. Video game graphics are good in video games, but when you do film with them they look funny.

While Mortal Kombat: Legacy isn't a serious web serie,s the action looks better as live action (at least in the first episode). People look like people and tiny things in a person's movement look more believable.
