The Hulk
As with the last Sharknado movie, there are cameos. One of my favorites was Lou Ferrigno. Who is he? He played the original Hulk. Even though I didn't watch a lot of the original The Incredible Hulk series, his performance has a place in my heart. The references to his performance as the Hulk made me fangirl so hard.
The Hashtag Voting
At the end of the movie there was an option for you to vote using hashtags on Twitter. I didn't vote as I didn't care that much. The voting was to decide if a character lives or dies in the next movie. While this has the up of interacting with fans, it also has the downside of seeming extremely lazy. The Asylum made this so the latter isn't too far-fetched.
Z Nation Reference
The Asylum makes the Sharknado series as well as the SyFy show Z Nation. The show revolves around getting Murphy to California so that a cure for the zombie virus can be found. In the show there was an episode where there were znados and a character makes a reference about Sharknado. In this film it's reversed.
Final Thoughts
I don't get why people were so angry about this film. It doesn't take itself seriously so I wonder why people feel they need to. It's mindless fun. If you don't like b-movies, you shouldn't be watching a movie with such a wacky premise in the first place. There are more important works of fiction to get angry about. I can't wait until the next one!
